Not that he's quitting, but I'm officially withdrawing my prediction that he'll be the next POTUS. The guy can't debate to save his life. Debating skills are important in this election. Romney can hold his own. He's the default choice unless someone like Christie enters the race. Romney will beat Obama and be a decent president. My two favorite debaters are Gingridge and Cain. Looks like neither has a chance. Gingridge has snuck up to 3rd in some polls. He would be a nightmare for Obama. Either way, I'm convinced the GOP won't nominate Perry. You don't have to be a master, but at the same time, you can't suck.

Are you more interested in debating skills than accomplishments? You do realize that's how we got into the mess we're in now, don't you? Silly to put that much stock in debates. It's how people have performed in the real world that's important. One golden-tongued devil is enough for awhile.

We have a default. Romney is already beating Obama in the polls and it's still early. I was just hoping for someone better. It's you guys that need a new candidate.

No, it's just a piece of the puzzle. It's not the only piece, problem is, it's an essential piece. All of what you say is true. Romney is not perfect, but infinitely better than Obama. His debate skills aren't perfect either, far from it, but they're good enough. The only other hope is a surge from Gingridge, or an entrance by Christie or even more remote, by Rubio. Otherwise you take what you can get. Perry has good accomplishments, but so did Pawlenty and many others. You have to be able to articulate yourself. Perry can't, not on this national stage for some reason.
You Title is crap and you know it. The next time you are ticked at someone with a lie for a thread title just make sure you keep your mouth shut. Perry is one of my least favorites, but I don't support your tactics.
If Perry ends up on the ballot, you gonna vote for Barack? I'm not Perry's biggest fan, but he's been a good gov and I'd trust him to help us climb outta this economic nightmare. He's never been good at debates... too cocky for his own good. But he gets results. I think it's too early to count him out yet. And I still say every single person on that stage would be a great choice over Barack. Anybody but Obama, baby.

They don't but a good portion do. And I don't think the GOP electorate will tolerate someone they think is going to get trounced by Obama in debates. Look I was very open toward Perry. But the guy just sucks on the stage. If he were mediocre like Romney I'd be fine with it. You just can't suck.
