Pretty much everything you've said about the Assange case. You choose.

This will probably scare hell out of you, but if you really want to get the skinny on what happened to Assange in Sweden all those years ago, watch this one.

And YOU most definitely have forgot - That when there is DATA that is definitive
proof of Crime - That DATA does NOT ethically or morally belong to the Degenerates
who perpetrated said Crime, under who's Lock & Key that CRIME may remain hidden.
Crime of what ever stripe or color needs to be EXPOSED and brought into the Light
............................................................................................ where Justice may be served upon it.

To propose that those perpetrating Crime be allowed to keep the Facts of their
Crimes hidden makes YOU Complicit in that Crime - And it will find YOU out
............................................................................. - and the dirt of it will NOT wash off [IMG]

Decency and patriotism both demand that data documenting government crimes be given to the public.

The data most certainly didn't belong to either Assange nor Snowden. It wasn't theirs to give to others.

If all they did was expose, it would be one thing, but giving it to others is illegal. FYI, they signed an oath/agreement when they got their clearances to give up all those so called rights they claim.

NOW THINK FOR A MOMENT !
How are they to EXPOSE the details of the Crime without giving those details of some one?
And as far as the - 'Legality or Illegality' - of their actions is concerned, - YOU would do well
to remember that it was perfectly 'LEGAL' for the Nazi's to MURDER Jews & Romany.

When 'so called Legality' becomes corrupt it has NO CLAIM to any Moral High Ground
And it has NO CLAIM to any Oath who's purpose has been co-opted and twisted in order
...................................................................................................................... to hide & cover its EVIL

And as far as their RIGHT to expose Criminal Malfeasance is concerned, such a RIGHT
is Inalienable, and is NOT granted or rescinded by some Dirty Sycophantic Bureaucrat.

And indeed it becomes the HARD DUTY of every Moral Individual who has a functioning
Moral Compass to EXPOSE Crime & Corruption that he or she has become aware of.

    A few questions:

    #1
Is Julian Assange a US citizen ... and has he committed the crime he is accused of on US soil for which is why the US is demanding his extradition?

The answer is no! For that reason alone, the USA has no right to demand extradition!

    #2
Assange has revealed and published evil things that the US has committed. Sure, these were classified documents, but what he did is called "investigative journalism"!
Let's turn things around hypothetically and say that some US journalist has revealed and published similar way and similar secret things from Russia or China ... Would Russia or China then have the right to demand the extradition of this US journalist if being by chance in another country etc.?
Or more as that ... would the US comply with this request?

The answer is a clear no ... so it's the same for Assange!
The alleged rape is something completely different and here the US has nothing to do with it, because that's an issue of Sweden only!

The problem is that is only true of a tiny proportion of the data that was taken and published. If Manning and Assange had limited themselves to data they'd identified as evidence of potential criminal acts, I very much doubt they'd be in their current situations. What appears to have happened though is that they extracted as much data as they could get their hands one, more than they could have possibly previewed for criminality and much or which, when published by Wikileaks, was shown not to contain anything illegal. This shouldn't be surprising since the stated purpose of Wikileaks isn't to just publish evidence of crimes but to publish pretty much any and all data they can get hold of.

The specific question in relation to Assange is whether he only accepted the data from Manning or whether he took active part in seeking and obtaining it. That is what needs determining by a US court of law.

At a human level I don't see the need to throw him in a US prison. They have a disproportionate relationship with Justice over there and I think we should protect our citizens from that, where possible.

You might have been sleeping. They gave it to the PUBLIC, the people, the world. They exposed the crimes of the US government and its agents, and that is everybody's civic duty.
