    I don't.

Anything can happen if Trump succeeds in becoming a dictator. Again: I don't think it will happen. But the likelihood that he might succeed is not zero.

On the other hand, reading the title and OP, I don't think this thread is intended to be taken too seriously

Not yet, we are still ranked 48th on life expectancy; better than most countries,
and way ahead of Cuba at 57th which drinks too much rum, consumes too
much sugar and smokes too many cigars.

Obesity plays a big role I'm sure in our ranking of life expectancy. Can't live a life of not exercising and over-eating and expect to be healthy. Collectively we have become a very lazy glutinous country.

I agree. I have been fat in the past. Getting to a normal weight has done more for my health than anything else.

Particularly easy in one about becoming a "sh**hole country". The groups are mentioned are the ones most laborious in attempting to accomplish that.

I've got a video of their leader saying he'd like to "punch them in the face" and offering to cover their legal bills. Does that count?

Women on the subway punching a white supremacist? I can't say I'm sorry for the guy.

The one thing we should NEVER tolerate is intolerance.

Don't be stupid. When I say "budget agreement" I mean a budget agreement that radically CUTS U.S. spending. You get it now?

52 posts. 52 posts of just more political blathering.

I hate it when people call America a "shithole country" or "banana republic" or a "dictatorship".
In my opinion they reveal their hate for what America is.
Either that, or their ignorance about how America is different.

Because it seems they always justify their claim by then listing all of the things our government has done that they disagree with.

    Here's the thing.
America has proven that our government structure, its checks and balances, work.
Our Constitution, bill of rights, etc. are revolutionary documents that prevent any one person, any one political party, any one group, from taking power and holding it for very long.
We saw that during the civil war.
We saw that during the McCarthy era.
    We're seeing it right now.

America has certainly blundered from one crisis to another and we certainly have managed to turn victory into defeat enough times that the case could be made that we are really one messed up country.

But, we have also recognized and fixed our blunders. Now, one could argue the fix was worse than the blunder, but the point is, America has survived and thrived. We have refused to let any single political agenda take and hold power for more than a decade or so. We have managed, despite all, to maneuver through a complex and ever changing world to lead more than follow.
    And succeed more than fail.

We have shown the world a shining beacon of freedom and liberty.
    "Shithole country"?
    No.
    Shithole partisan.

Rightists should leave America now before it's too late. God speed wherever you find utopia. Don't let the door hit ya in the ass on the way out.

'A New American Century' sounded a lot like: 'The Project for a New American Century', but if you meant something entirely different
then that's ok, something other than bullying as many countries as possible.

I agree. The quality of the US citizen is falling, trust in institutions is falling, and our institutions themselves are falling.
We really need a war, or an infrastructure attack, etc. to remind (most) people we, as individuals have no other place to go. As we say in the military "Don't crap in your mess kit".
Everyone seems to be crapping in it.
Various agencies is are warning about an infrastructure attack by China. Economic terrorism is sort of their playbook. If we are lucky it may focus the minds of our population.
One criticism the Chinese have of us rings true:
All we go is fight for power, but the business doesn't get done. AKA "We do, they talk".

    You (my question)
Are millions entering the country that will never be deported.

    Copilot
    Using the web

"The topic of immigration and deportation is complex and often subject to political debate. However, based on the information available, it’s not accurate to say that millions are entering the country and will never be deported.

Government statistics show that in the initial processing of millions of encounters, 2.5 million people have been released into the U.S. and 2.8 million have been removed or expelled1. It’s important to note that these figures represent events, not individual people2.

Some politicians have claimed higher numbers, but these claims have been disputed and fact-checked1. For example, former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, claimed last month that 8 million “have come in illegally” and “we have to send them back.”1 However, these figures have been challenged by fact-checkers1342.

It’s also worth noting that immigration cases can take years to make their way through court backlogs1. The figures on what happens when migrants come to the border reflect the initial dispositions1.

In conclusion, while it’s true that many people are entering the country, it’s not accurate to say that they will never be deported. The actual numbers can vary widely depending on the source and the specific time period in question. It’s always a good idea to check multiple sources and use critical thinking when interpreting these statistics."

As shown in the graphics above Ronald Reagan was the first to take debt growth exponential. Which because that ALL money is created as debt, but the interest on that debt is NOT created we will always need to create new debt just to pay interest on the old. But, the international banksters that own the worlds Central Banks, like the FED, see that they have created a monster that cannot survive in the same paradigm as in the past.

The fact is the U.S. Dollar IS the worlds exchange currency and there is no other able to step in to fill that role. So while it remains a fact that once Reagan took debt growth exponential it will remain that way. But, that is a meaningless statistic now. The important fact is that the U.S. is also the most militarily powerful nation on earth by a factor of at least 10X. The most robust and economicly stable economy on earth with no exception and none likely to come close.

The upshot is as long as we believe in U.S. and support the GREAT American Experiment of Government by the People ... U.S. will remain the leading nation on earth long into the future.
Actually we have turned that corner and, because of President Biden's "inflation reduction act" that is investing in bringing back high tech manufacturing to the U.S. we are looking at 10 years of positive economic growth both in business and jobs.
That's true, but with the projected growth for U.S. that will change.
That's true, but once a family could live on $10,000 a year now it takes at least 10x that. It's all relative.
    You (my question)
Is the root cause of America's economic problems illegal immigration

    Copilot

    Using the web

"The impact of immigration, including illegal immigration, on the U.S. economy is a complex issue and is the subject of ongoing debate among economists. Here are some key points based on various studies:
    1. Positive Impact: Research indicates that immigrants, including undocumented ones, contribute to economic growth, enhance the welfare of natives, contribute more in tax revenue than they collect, reduce American firms’ incentives to offshore jobs and import foreign-produced goods, and benefit consumers by reducing the prices of goods and services1. Immigrants make up roughly 15% of workers, but they are 80% more likely to become entrepreneurs, creating a positive ripple-effect on the economy2.
    2. Negligible Overall Impact: Some studies suggest that the overall impact of illegal immigration on the U.S. economy is negligible, despite clear benefits for employers and unauthorized immigrants and slightly depressed wages for low-skilled native workers3.
    3. Effect on Wages: While some policymakers have blamed immigration for slowing U.S. wage growth since the 1970s, most academic research finds little long run effect on Americans’ wages4. The available evidence suggests that immigration leads to more innovation, a better educated workforce, greater occupational specialization, better matching of skills with jobs, and higher overall economic productivity4.
    4. Fiscal Impact: Immigration also has a net positive effect on combined federal, state, and local budgets. But not all taxpayers benefit equally. In regions with large populations of less educated, low-income immigrants, native-born residents bear significant net costs due to immigrants’ use of public services, especially education4.
In conclusion, while illegal immigration does have effects on the economy, it is not accurate to label it as the root cause of America’s economic problems. The economic issues are multifaceted and cannot be attributed to a single factor. It’s always a good idea to check multiple sources and use critical thinking when interpreting these statistics."
    You (my question)
do third world immigrants bring the problems the left behind with them and lower the standard of living in the US as a result
We've reached the point of no return, IMO. Joe Biden will go down in history as the 'president' that destroyed the country.

    Copilot

    Using the web

The impact of immigration on the standard of living in the U.S. is a complex issue and is the subject of ongoing research. Here are some key points based on various studies:
    1. Improvement in Living Standards: A large majority (77%) of immigrants say their own standard of living is better than that of their parents, higher than the share of U.S.-born adults who say the same (51%), and most (60%) believe their children’s standard of living will be better than theirs is now1.
    2. Economic Contribution: Immigrants, including those from developing countries, contribute to economic growth, enhance the welfare of natives, contribute more in tax revenue than they collect, reduce American firms’ incentives to offshore jobs and import foreign-produced goods, and benefit consumers by reducing the prices of goods and services2. Immigrants make up roughly 15% of workers, but they are 80% more likely to become entrepreneurs, creating a positive ripple-effect on the economy3.
    3. Impact on GDP: Increasing immigration would also raise the standard of living for Americans by boosting GDP per capita—that is, each person’s share of economic output4.
    4. Challenges: Despite an improved situation relative to their countries of birth, many immigrants report facing serious challenges, including high levels of workplace and other discrimination, difficulties1.
In conclusion, while immigration does bring challenges, it also brings numerous benefits. It’s not accurate to say that immigrants lower the standard of living in the U.S. The actual impact can vary widely depending on a variety of factors, including the immigrants’ skills, education level, and the policies in place. It’s always a good idea to check multiple sources and use critical thinking when interpreting these statistics.

I think your anger proves that wrong.

You mean like the war that our NOT ally shithead israel is trying to drag us into with Iran? Or a different war?

Makes no difference really, more money will be thrown down the toilet on some POS country far far away and none will be spent here where it should be spent.

You're not reading your own post. We're helping an ALLY defend themselves, using their military THERE instead of U.S. defending U.S. using our military HERE where we sure as hell don't want it spent.

Well at least if he does it will slow it down some because he won't just be willy-nilly allowing millions of illegal aliens to flood into our nation and consume our resources.

ahh, that old trope, the nefarious right wing boogeyman "illegals are poisoning us' 'illegals are vermin' , and it's a lie and it always has been a lie not to mention it's nazi overtones. America was built by immigrants, immigration is the foundational strength of our nation. Besides, once into this country legally, it takes many years before one can achieve citizenship, and only then are you allowed to vote. So, immigration doesn't 'buy votes'.
You do realize that is a racist point of view, do you not?
Oh bullshit. I"ve been hearing this kind of argument from hard right wingers since the 60s.. Nothin' new, the John Birchers were the trumpsters of the 60s., hell, I remember books on 'the depression that is surely coming' back in the late 60s/early 70s.

    Chicken little on parade.

    Anyway,

All off your concerns have been occurring gradually since the implementation of the fractional reserve banking system and the federal reserve that administers it from 1913 onward until today.

No one party has a monopoly on the problem.

So, the problem is systemic. Until all concern accept this fact, only then can something be done about it.

But, of course,. y'all on the right will try and squeeze some politics out of it, as you guys have been doing since LBJ.

He'll resort to the cruel and inhumane tactics, whereupon lower numbers are immorally achieved. You can't brag about your income if your income was achieved by robbing banks.

Consume our resources? 50% of illegals pay taxes and are not allowed to collect social security. There is a labor shortage, we need more immigrants, not less. Everyone is a descendent of immigrants, so our presence isn't a drain, and we're all people, so your premise is absurd. Jobs ultimately come from people buying things, and the last time I checked, an immigrant is a person.

And you guys cannot complain about the border since Johnson refused to put the republican led Lankford/Sinema bill for a vote, amendments, negotiation, and the legislative process that would have ultimately resulted in something that everyone could accept, but no, Trump wanted the border problem as a campaign issue, and Johnson, the sycophant he is, acquiesced and killed the bill.
