Though the House adopted two articles of impeachment charging Trump with abuse of power and obstruction of congressional investigations, it must pass a second resolution formally naming impeachment managers to present the case in the Senate. That second vehicle triggers the official transmission of articles to the Senate.

When President Bill Clinton was impeached in 1998, House leaders identified their impeachment managers the same day. But Pelosi instead will be empowered to pick managers at her discretion and without a deadline.

“The rule will allow the speaker to name managers at any point after the articles pass,” a senior House Democratic aide said, noting that the House needs to name managers in order to transmit the articles to the Senate.

^Yet, another misguided RW "narrative" goes down in flames.

    You're Welcome.:salute:

Thanks for proving the hyper partisan impeachment is totally political and not factual.

So you are saying that Pelosi will violate Trump's 6th amendment rights. Fascinating.

    Yup.

    Elections have consequences.

That said, if the GOP was so worried about this impeachment then they should have done a better job of keeping the House in 2018.

    Problem prevented.

If that is true then why not let the articles go through to the Senate? If that is true then Pelosi has an incentive to get the articles to the Senate asap.

So, using the impeachment process as a political weapon...and you don't think that won't hurt the dems? Is that REALLY the narrative that you want to go with?

So now we use impeachment as a game? Thanks for admitting what clear minded people everywhere, can already see.

Much like Mitchy and Graham would have violated America's 6th amendment rights to an impartial jury, IF the 6th amendment had any bearing on this process, which it does not....

Still a trial unless you think there is no trial for impeachment.

The House has made serious allegations. Pelosi has a moral and Constitutional duty to get impeachment to the Senate so Trump can clear his name.

Nobody is clambering for a market crash (or serious correction), but many feel something is coming. 2019 was just too good...

What took place in the house was just about perfect. Trump declined to participate, there was an open debate, and 2 very simple articles passed. To paraphrase Top Gun, "It doesn't get to look any better than that."

That recipe sounds better than how I've eaten them in the past, but not enough...

The Constitution says if the House votes in favor of impeachment, the matter is referred to the Senate. It’s not optional.

"The senate SHALL HAVE has the SOLE POWER to try all impeachments."

The senate can proceed to trial without Pelosi's participation in the tradition of sending UP the articles to the HIGHER CHAMBER.

The senate does not have to grant so-called "house managers" access to their chamber.

The senate can grant so-called "house managers" access to their chamber, if they wish to do so.

The senate can proceed entirely on its own if it so wishes to do so.

A Senate trial is to a 6th amendment trial as high crimes are to statutory crimes...

So Nancy is going to withhold this dire national emergency just because she doesn't like the jury? Fascinating.

The senate already has the articles, as does the whole world and Whistler's mother.

The senate has everything it needs to proceed to trial now if it wishes to do so.

Pelosi's participation is not needed at all to proceed.

This is the American bureaucracy. The senate needs the paperwork to get the ball rolling. If the house hasn’t sent up articles of impeachment, there are no articles to try.

True but it will make the dems look like fools for rushing the impeachment due to it being such a 'dire national emergency'.

Mitch should hold a vote in the Senate today and just get it over with.

No. The senate has the articles now, which are all that it needs.

The senate need not grant access to THEIR CHAMBER to any house member or their house lawyers to proceed -- that's only tradition, and tradition can be broken.

The problem with the markets in today's trading, is that it's nearly impossible to predict now that a great majority of sell/buy orders are automated based upon market detectors. Unlike 15 years ago when there was a human element which was predictable, an algorithm that is set up to make instant decision base upon news or market shifts is very unpredictable. We may never see another drastic correction again. No one knows.
