It seems the more educated and clever peoples are the fewer dictators they need.Sure there are some exceptions but the tendency is obviously. It is understandably why Muslim countries hate the IQ-Scores - Country Ranking List and condemn it as "discrimination", "bigotry","hate" and "racism".

Question: should we really waste our money and try to establish democracy in the countries with the low IQ-scores?

Education is a better measure than IQ.

If the majority of your country can't even read, then yes, democracy probably won't work too well.

IQ is somewhat difficult to measure when education is scarce and dietary deficiencies cause brain development problems.

The IQ-Scores of the U.S. are 98, the IQ-Scores of Portugal are 95, therefore your post is wrong.

Government is a direct reflection of the people's intelligence. If everybody was smart, direct democracy would work.

Bold statement for someone not living in the USA, eh? I suggest taking your anti-USA crap somewhere else, and I would appreciate it if you did not generalize. :)

I would say that, generally, people don't like authoritarianism. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that freedom > oppression. People have been fighting dictators since way before the modern age. People were much less... intelligent back then.

Well that's the spoon fed version at least. Dictators rise to power through populist movements. Throughout history, you either have a dictator or ruling class, the archenemies of each other. They keep their power based upon how satisfied the majority is. Only a dictator can defeat a ruling class, just as only a ruling class can topple a dictator. Like row sham bow. The ruling class version has weathered the history storm better, and has wrote the majority of what we know as history, so of course, public programming will lean towards favoring them.

I've visited several shantytowns in my travels and these folks are smart and very creative..you have to be to survive..they may not be well educated but they're aware of corruption and politics affecting them..not much they can do in most places because of the strength of the military and police....
beware my fellow Americans..our military, FBI, DEA and police force is growing at an alarming rate..lobbyist are corrupting congress..not a good thing if you believe in freedom..

Oh come on, this is just flame-bait. GW Bush was not a dictator, he was elected - and even if you contend that the first election with Gore was 'rigged' - TWICE. Surely if he was a dictator Obama would have not won the election as his replacement, dictators don't allow their power to be taken away, that's why they're dictators.

    Interesting.

Reminds me of the Assemby of God sign on a mainstreet building in Wellington.

Which said: "Assembly of God, 2nd Floor, take lift".

There were stairs, but apparently God and technology are at One.

You are correct. Education is KNOWN to be a rather decent indicator of a nation's overall well-being. The MORE, the BETTER.

I think you might be misinterpreting their resentment of your flamebaiting and rediculous unsubstantiated conclusions with resentment of New Zealand.

They often satire comments about New Zealand because you spend a rediculous amount of time hating their country.

I don't understand all this equating of "democracy" with intelligence. The thing that prevents authoritarian rule is a majority who is willing to fight to death, with the means to fight to death. There will always be fewer smart people in a society than dumb. That is what makes smart people special. You can't fix stupid. You can teach everybody to be more productive with the brain they were born with, but you can't change the actual starting point. I can't speak for other nations, but percentage wise I guarantee the intelligence of Americans is the same as it has ever been. Day after day the state grows more and more authoritarian, to the point with legislation as it sits could turn into a monster government overnight, legally, with the flip of a switch. Is anyone going to argue there are more dumb people now than a century ago? The percentage is the same, and educational wise we have improved. The thing that has change over the course of 2 centuries is the threat of Americans taking up arms against a central power. A serious possibility in the beginning, which is all but obsolete today. That is the key to preventing an out of control dictator, and ruling class.

The BEST we could do for this "American" society, would be to EDUCATE as many as we can, to the highest levels possible.

I (for one) do not deny the successes of other nations; especially when they have gotten something right.

I love my nation and have vowed to DIE for it many times, but one of America's biggest problems is that some think PRIDE is more important than 'prudence'.
