As a believer of the 12th imam he would know that to "hasten his arrival" which he also said in the CNN interview and several times in front of the UN, he has to create chaos and war. The fact that he hasn't said chaos and war is immaterial, as a believer he would know it.

Then I showed in another link that it requires chaos and war to bring the 12th imam into power. AS a believer Ahmed would know all of that.

Pffft usual rubbish IMO.
Attacking Iran will cause more problems in terms of troops numbers, money, public support, etc etc. There is no reason IMO as there are other countries that are just as bad (if not worse if you look at recent ACTIONS rather than WORDS) that we do NOT consider sorting out.

Also, in most speeches etc, he talks about a regime, rather than the people/country, just like we talked about regime change in Iraq... of course his words are a bit more colorful, but it seems he refers to removing the people in power rather than "exterminating all jews".

Honestly I think he's trying fool the US into attacking... It would be a very good way to help the US go down if we attacked and there were no weapons factories found etc etc and it had just all been hot air. I'm sure we would still try to justify to save face, but it would be a very clever ploy.

There has been talk for years from Iran, and nothing is particularly happening, other than they support Hamas and try to give them really (*)(*)(*)(*) poor weapons.

They are still years away from nukes, if they are indeed intending to build them, and even if they had them I think there is more to say they WOULDN'T use them rather than to say they would - I don't know of any leaders that don't want to retain their power, money, and other influence instead of firing a nuke and getting a nuke in the face in return. And if they tried shipping the nukes out, the traces would still come back to Iran I'm sure and would have the same effect - removal from power with no excuses this time.

I get bored with the Iran talk really as I keep spouting the same stuff above, but it surprises me that people think that he's so unstable he's willing to lose power (incuding the folks behind him).

You hear what you want to hear. He never said that in that interview. He said he prays for the return of Imam. He spoke about peace and brotherly love that the Imam will bring to all people.That is completely different than saying he wants to hasten the arrival of the Imam. I challenge to go back and listen to what he said.....I listened to it twice. I believe the one that he calls the Imam, is the one that we Christians calls Jesus.

Oh how we love to hide behind some of our crimes by saying it is in the past. Much of what Saddam was accused of doing was in the past (the U.S government supported what Saddam did when he was doing it), but it never stopped Bush and the media from propagation war against Iraq.
