Young Iranians Astiyazh Haghighi and her fiancé Amir Mohammad Ahmadi were sentenced to ten years and six months in prison by a “revolutionary court” in Iran for the “crime” of dancing in public.

We won't speculate on the religious tenets that may have dictated this conviction. That would be insensitive and bigoted.

 

Kissing and sex are discouraged in Iran.... they can lead to dancing.

Iran was a normal country at one time until they deposed the Shah in the early 70s. Jimmy Carter was president then and watched it happen. The Islamic dictatorship then took over Iran and now dancing gets you a prison sentence. Go figure.
