Yep, Federal LEO solving an ugly problem.

    That's the reality.
U.S. Soldiers don't even hope to shoot someone. They are willing to kill enemies. Except for MPs, they are not in charge of enforcing laws.

"Willing to use deadly force" is a job description for a soldier - not an IRS agent of any type.

The job application says willing to use deadly force. Sure sounds like killing people is a big part of the job.

Wow a federal agency that claims it needs lots more money and people to do it’s job. Never expected that.

The job cuts/employment freezes etc over the past 20 years or so are a matter of record. You can check if you don't believe me.

ALL jobs that require the applicant to carry a firearm mean/indicate that the applicant must be prepared to use deadly force. That's what firearms are for - the application of deadly force! What other function do you think they have? And where exactly pray tell does the advertisement state that the willingness to use deadly force is a 'big part of the job'?

How typical Bob. Take one sentence from a fairly detailed response to one of your typically 'fact free' posts in order to scue it entirely out of context. If you had any integrity you would have addressed at least some points I raised (including that one) in the post in question. Just as I've tried on multiple occasions to address most if not all of the points you've raised in your posts. Instead? You didn't even try. Your 'go to' response when your backed into a corner in a debate? Mock.

The Facts? During this entire thread you haven't produced one single shred of evidence supporting your claim that the Biden Administration wants IRS officers to murder US citizens. And that's what this argument has been about. And every single time your pressed on that point? You run away.

To repeat. You been asked on multiple occasions to 'put up or shut up' in terms of providing evidence that supports your claims. And to date you've produced 'zip', well less than zip actually. So since you haven't 'put' I guess that means it's time for you 'shut'. Integrity, look the work up in the dictionary 'Bob'.

and? Every agency has some do dumb ****, why is that a surprise? Doesn’t mean they should be disarmed, they have arrest authority. All sworn law enforcement has to be mentally able to use deadly force when necessary. No one is hoping to shoot anyone I have no idea where you’re getting that.

I looked up some adds for police and FBI. Not one said a requriement was the willingness to use deadly force.

Since when does the requirements for an accountant include a gun and the willingness to kill?

You are on the wrong side of this arguement, nothing you say, no debate, will justify your position.

Many people, including you it seems, may be unaware that IRS Special Agents are not simply "accountants". They are armed law enforcement agents engaged in criminal investigations, hence it makes sense to make this clear in an IRS Special Agent job listing, whereas most people already know this about FBI agents and police officers.

The line above "deadly force" refers to "life-threatening situations". The line below it refers to "dangerous assignments".

And, in light of this, they must "Carry a firearm and be willing to use deadly force, if necessary".

I would suggest you use Occam's razor. In this case the use of deadly force has been emphasized simply because most of the potential applicants for the jobs almost certainly don't associate IRS agents with carrying firearms. Hence the simplest way to save everybody's time is to hammer that point home by mentioning deadly force. That way people who aren't mentally prepared for that scenario won't bother applying in the first place.

Most other agencies with a law enforcement role, Police, FBI, ATF, etc people see a job listed & the first thing they might think is 'do I carry a gun'? IRS? Not so much. From memory there are/were always a few scenarios involving the IRS every year where firearms where required and a small but not insignificant % of IRS agents who were always trained to use them. It looks like that number will be increasing substantially over the next few years.

As for the accountant bit. The FBI has accountants who carry guns. Its not their office title that matters, its the jobs they're expected to do in the field. You might well be an accountant working for the IRS but if your assigned to a team conducting a serious criminal investigation and your executing a search warrant where your presence is required on site to help identify key records? Mike the plumber is not going to be called in for a routine audit and have to sit down opposite an IRS auditor wearing a side arm and body armor because those particular tools are not required for that particular job. Least ways those are the rules now.

I am aware of that and it’s not necessary. No irs person should be armed or kicking in doors. And the IRS does not need to be purchasing 4500 guns and $700,000 of ammo over the past year (in addition to what they already have).

The democrats are building their own police that will do their bidding.

Only IRS Special Agents - of which there are about 2,100 - are armed, because they conduct dangerous assignments as part of their criminal investigations involving drug cartels, money laundering, terrorists, and so on and so forth.

Does not matter. No IRS employee should be armed and kicking in doors.

It may not matter to you, but the it is the nature of the work of IRS employees that determines whether or not they should be armed. For IRS employees who are Special Agents, the determination is that they should be armed because the work they do is dangerous, involving potentially life-threatening situations in which they need the capacity to protect themselves, their colleagues and the public. Hence these particular IRS employees are the only employees authorized to carry firearms, and it's nothing new - this has been the case since 1919.

You live in the past when your govt worked for you and the people, step into the present when the govt is run by tyrants and thieves who only want to enslave you.
