I say it is. It will not shut up the anti-gun crowd. Nothing will. However, firearm training represents a new trend. Ranges are springing up all over the place. Women are embracing training. With that, you can rest that men will follow.
Well, 4 new indoor gun shop/ranges in my area, each with 20 lanes, including 3 with 50 yrd and one with 100 Yrd lanes. Three of those ranges have ladies only nights and have guns, holsters, gear for specifically for women. 1 of the older, more established ranges, just doubled their lane capacity and added rifle lanes. We now have 9 ranges in 30 mi radius. I would say the demand is there and I think it a good thing. I have increasingly noticed more couples and in the evenings...date night?
Removing all guns from the general populace would be a start. I think if you live in a world without gun violence, then the "anti " gun or "pro" gun people wouldn't have much to talk about.
true for 35 years Greater cincinnati only had one public indoor range. In the last four years, in addition to Targetworld (if you are a long time USPSA shooter you might remember the famous "Midwinter nationals" indoor shoot run by the Lippmeiers at TW in the early 80s) we have seen two "Point Blanc ranges (one in Blue Ash-15 miles north east of down town cincinnati and one in the western side of the county in Harrison), Ready Line in the Milford area (15 miles east of downtown) and another new range in West Chester (22 miles north of downtown. there are also several in northern KY. and TW expanded by ten lanes so in five years Cincinnati went from 12 public lanes to about 100 - - - Updated - - - that would result in thousands of deaths and if it came to such a horrific possibility-hopefully most of the casualties would be those who tried to impose such stupidity rather than lots of productive citizens who would refuse to give up their guns to satisfy the idiocy of Banoids
They wouldn't be speaking a language known to humans, and they'd be breathing argon, or something. Let us please keep the discussion limited to things that are possible on this planet. We've seen a HUGE increase in gun ranges in the Las Vegas area in the last decade. I don't know much about what they do there, because I only shoot in uncontrolled outdoor places. In the last 3 or 4 years, I've been seeing a lot more people out there. Guess what! We have ZERO accidental shootings out there.
Well, realistically speaking, that isn't going to happen. Do you have any non-utopian suggestions we could discuss?
I think you should show the other gun owners the way. Turn in your guns to the police today and practice what you preach.
Of course the NRA would fight against any mandatory training. Guns are COMPLETELY self explanatory.....didn't you know?
you are using facts again on someone who ignores them. He also fails to understand that constitutional rights are not subject to mandatory anything
America? You mean the entire world. No other organization has done more to promote firearms safety either. - - - Updated - - - If they had an ounce of self-respect, they'd be embarrassed as well.
No. Just pass the driving test. LOL - - - Updated - - - There is no organization in the country that FIGHTS mandatory training on guns more than the NRA
For the sake of intelligent conversation, could you source your comment? Also how successful do you believe the NRA organization is at fighting mandatory training. Keep in mind that almost all states that allow licensed CCH require some form of training. When Kansas passed it's family personal protection act, I don't recall the NRA fighting mandatory training.
I live in rural America and there are two new handgun ranges nearby. There's also an emphasis on training, especially in a new state of the art facility. With the huge increase in CCW there is concomitant increase in some of the same instructors and facilities providing tactical training as a followup. This has been self driven by gun owners as our personalities are as such. We don't need laws, goofs or liberals telling us what to do or how to do it.
Well, as things decompose guns will continue to advance as an important tool for survival. The Dems long-term goal is to replace trad guns with smartguns that can be turned off and licensed like a cell phone. They can still abide by the 2nd A but they can make guns useless with the turn of a switch.
