Then you have no proof that annuity payments are limited.

Actually that is my proof and is what would be used in a court of law in the case of a lawsuit claiming money. There is no binding agreement for indefinite payments anywhere on record for any tribe.

What is your proof? By your own admission no treaty contains any language specifically limiting the duration of annuity payments. That can be interpreted to mean that payments are indefinite.

What happens then? Think about this. The answer is pretty obvious.

They would have to rely on the same services the rest of Americans rely on. If you have ever been to a reservation and seen their systems you will know that the systems the rest of the country rely on are vastly superior.

Ya, you don't have the slightest clue what you're talking about. Indian tribes may be semi independent to run their daily affairs, but that doesn't extend to foreign affairs.

So you want them to suck of the teet regardless. You either pay them and have them stay on the reservation or you don't and you pay anyway.

See, short sided thinking. That is what I was saying from the beginning.

Americans already pay for these services so ending their funding and adding them to the system would not cost extra money. Most do not live on reservations anyways, they only keep this land for sentimental reasons.

How can you have all the people on the reservations get into the system not have ot cost more money than is already being spent?

Because they already rely on State services. Reservations have their own police but not jails, they use city jails. They have their own doctors but not specialists, they use county hospitals. They have their own fire department but rely on city water. They already are using the services of the State which is covered in the State budget. Eliminating their reservation services will not add one single penny to the State budget.

Its similar to services provided on any major state university campus. You have your own police and fire and medical but all still tied into the State services paid for by the students tuition.

If they get into the system it will cost even more then the 700 buck a month they get now.

    You didn't think this through.

That's not entirely accurate. Many of the nations have jail facilities, small hospitals and a variety of clinic services geared specifically to Native Americans. Those tribes that do use city/county jails pay a per diem fee. And using city water isn't free. They pay a surcharge.

They still pay state and federal taxes as it is which pays for these services. Think of it like this. The government pays for the tribal police force essentially so by eliminating funding to the tribes you are basically just laying off government workers. That is a reduction in money.

There is no reason the Indian tribes cannot use the current police or fire services that everyone else does. They are paying for it anyways in taxes everytime they go to the store and purchase an item.

Well you are correct. The point is that they are already paying for these services so don't need funds for their tribal only people. It would save money for them to use the system that everyone else does. Its not like adding everyone on the reservations to the system is gonna overload it or anything.

$700 a month with no property taxes is a good deal. They should collectively finance green energy on their lands with this money and generate their own power. They should also become farmers, not hunter/gatherers and grow their own food. They should come together and start their own businesses that serve their nation like a construction company, a communal supermarket etc... they should have their own society.

I think it's been a long time since Native Americans were hunters/gatherers.

The majority of Native Americans were not hunter-gatherers at the time of major contact with Europeans. Their greatest population concentrations were in the Mesoamerican and Andean cultural regions, which primarily relied on maize and potato agriculture, respectively.

Cut off Native Americans and allow them self gov't in their own state(s).

Heck, Even China has SAR's (Special Administrative Regions) Inner Mongolia was once even termed Semi-Autonomous.

Well...I don't know exactly. What kind of standards would need to be achieved to dissipate say, the deaths of several generations of your family? When would you be satisfied?
Next, you'll probably tell me all blacks need to stop referring to slavery too. Let me ask YOU a question? How much is enough for the white European? At what point do they become satisfied?

I hate this European aggression excuse. The majority of Indians died as a result of disease which was bound to happen to them anyways even with the best of intentions. Even on the Trail of Tears, the worst example of abuse, only 4000 indians died. It is horrible but hardly genocide. More people died on the second day of Gettysburgh than all the Indians slaughtered by Europeans put together.

I will agree that the mistreatment of the native peoples was extreme but to say that generations were slaughtered is just a plain lie.

So if their kids had kids, whose kids had kids...that's NOT generational?

Answer the question. What price would you accept?

Um if they are being slaughtered than I would assume they aren't having kids. If they are reproducing than they aren't being wiped out. What price would I accept for what? I'm happy to answer but not quite sure what your asking.
