Is "Russia Today" blocked in your part of the world?

It seems to be banned in a lot of places. I found a link to it in Spanish.

At the upper right of the pages there's a little box with the letters Esp which is short for Español (Spanish). Click on it and some other language options appear. "In" is short for Inglés. I clicked on it and it came up in English.

Try it and see what happens. I'm in Madrid. I couldn't make it come up when I looked for it in English, I was really surprised when I was able to switch the Spanish page to English.

If anyone else has found a way to get around the censorship in his or her part of the world, please post it here.

Not banned here. I dont pay much attention to RT, but Im glad I could if I wanted to. Theres no excuse for censorship.

 

I'm not in a position to be able to verify what RT says but the American mainstream media* are some of the worst in the world. They give an upside-down view of world events. A lot of alternative media say the same things that RT says.

It's not easy to know what the real truth is but if you only read the official American version, you're usually basing your opinions on misinfo and disinfo. The best way to find out what the truth is is to talk to people from the countries in question. That's not always easy to, especially in the US.

Of course you shouldn't simply take it as fact, but ruling it out completely is just as fallacious.

 

A wise person might question the value of 'independent' media that regularly echo Russian state propaganda and might even question the process by which they have come to place any trust in such media.

Oh, and RT is accessible here. Apparently also accessible in the US. I'm guessing it is actually accessible in most places, which makes the premise of this thread questionable.

Then I guess people in Europe will have to go to your 'independent media' to consume this particular brand of Russian state propaganda....or use a VPN like everyone else does.

 

It's blocked in all those "free countries" with "free speech" and "democracy". Such a load of . Nevertheless, you'll have the sheep that just keep taking up for the countries that are becoming more and more commified each and every passing day.

 

These people just don't understand one simple thing - for example calls to kill Ukrainian children, which come from RT recently, has noting to do with free speech. Justifying war crimes, hate speech, calls for genocide is not free speech but crime.

No reason to protect the free-speech of foreigners. If the government wanted to ban a foreign government from broadcasting here, I don't see a problem with it.

Global Research has been caught repeating Russian propaganda for years and been caught in their own lies many times.

Regardless if you disagree or agree with Western or Russian propaganda, the fact that Russian invaded a non-threatening country slaughtering and raping innocent civilians in their warpath should be proof enough they are not innocent nor have any justification to slaughtering 60k Ukrainians and even 60k of its own Russians just to steal land. Even if they wanted to supposedly "denazify", which is just an excuse, for this invasion, allowing 60k of their own people to die in an 8 month period to save a few people from alleged oppression should be more than enough to call out Russians lies and misinformation being Russia has accused Ukraine of killing 14k people in Donbass in the past 8 years. Hmmm losing 60k in 8 months because 14k allegedly died in 8 years. I wonder how many Ukrainians died at Russian hands over those 8 years as well. Nobody knows the complete truth, but we all know Russia is one hundred percent wrong invading a non-threatening country slaughtering innocents as well as allowing 60k of their own people die for some dictators ego. Now, they are sending 200-300k untrained civilians to die for their Fuhrer.

RT is not blocked by my provider AT&Treason, shock of shocks. AT&Treason does block One America News, but it used to be on there.

I've noticed that sometimes with my iPad the RT website is hard to get to compared to my computer. Most of the time it works fine, but sometimes the RT site can't be reached for some reason or another, even though other websites are fine. That tendency was strong back in February and March.
