They truly don't have a clue what's going on.Its like its all FREEEEEEEE =) And lets not even mention the DEMANDS illegals are making. Astounding the BALLS these people have to demand anything. Food isn't good enough. Housing isn't good enough? WTF? Be glad we're stupid enough to even let you in illegally "legally"=) Or you didn't have to climb over a wall to sneak in.

 

Stated by someone who has never been desperate enough to grasp at any straw just to survive. These are desperate people. The "proper and legal way" can take months, even years. That is what we need to fix.

 

I come from Irish and Welsh immigrants, all of whom came here in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They were not wanted. They were vilified. Political figures said things similar to the nastiness coming from Trump's cake hole about today's would-be immigrants. Newspapers depicted Irish men as dark, ugly, almost ape-like. They were called rapists and worse. Help Wanted signs featured the acronym NINA, meaning No Irish Need Apply.

Same hate, different century.

 

If that's their will, why should you or I care? It's still a free country.

The sanctuary isn't about spending money on food or housing, it's about not spending money setting up a reporting system to notify ICE of undocumented arrestees, then keeping them in jail, feeding them etc., until ICE finally gets around to fetching them. That's it. That's all there us to being a sanctuary city.

 

It can (and should) be pointed out that it's much easier for an economy to create more lower paying jobs for more people, than it is to create better paying jobs.

You can add more people, and those people will create additional jobs, but these people do not have money. So they will be lower paying jobs.

And then it's sort of scraping the bottom of the barrel when essential jobs that require a fairly high amount of training and skill do not pay more than just moderately good. I'm thinking specifically of the healthcare sector.

As the jobs in certain industries keep disappearing, mostly only the "less desirable" but essential jobs will remain.

People mistakenly think that if you add more people, the wealth per person in an economy will remain the same. (After all, 'Why should that cause individuals to earn less?,' they will ask) That's not how it works.
You think countries like India and Mexico are doing well, because they have so many people?

 

The democrats are stupid. They think they can secure a bunch of votes by letting in a gazillion illegals but the illegals have other plans.

 

I said it because you made a point of the illegals contributing to the economy. Many are and many are not. Sanctuary cities don't notify ICE about illegals. It is part of the concept of sanctuary. You need to broaden your input on illegal immigration.

 

Some are desperate and some are not. We don't know since we have open borders. What happens in other countries is none of our business so there is no reason to try to combat desperation. Sending money is tantamount to making a bonfire out of it. Glad to know you have experience at grasping at straws.

 

There is no proper and legal way for uneducated poor people to immigrate to the US, which is why they take the illegal way.

 

The goal of the open border policy is to put the Democrat, uniparty in control for the foreseeable future. Given that the Democrats control the education system, I don’t think that there is any way to stop them. Trump is not a popular, electable candidate. If the Biden puppet machine gets control for four more years, they will complete their mission. Even if there is a general dissatisfaction with the Democrats in 2028, they will control the ballot counting and voting pool. It will be impossible to vote them out of office.

 

Following that 'logic' the goal of the Republican policy of importing 2 million people from communist Cuba to Florida was to help them win elections in FL. Truth be told, without the Cuban vote, it would be impossible for GOP to win elections in Florida.

 

Why do so many Republicans follow the Democrat agenda? Because both parties are just wings of the Uniparty. Why do so many members of the Uniparty march to the Israeli Drum when assaulting constitutional rights? Because they've all been bribed by AIPAC.

 

It is simple. They just need to enter through a port of entry as the law requires. They don't for the reasons you see. Entering illegally gets them free transportation to their desired destination and food and lodging at those that are sanctuary cities. Entry through a port of entry only provides entry. No expensive coyotes required.

 

Assuming you refer to republican politicians then the reason is the same for both parties. They do what is in their self interest. The self interest of politicians is the same on both sides.

 

It seems to me that the self interest you refer to is founded in large part on the millions of dollars given to politicians by lobbyists like AIPAC.

 

I take it that “Israeli Drum” is opposing Hamas, and what it did on October 7. Does that mean you are in favor of the slogan, “From the river to the sea?”

 

The illegals are equally stupid. They come here supporting the same kind of leaders and politicians who made their country unlivable. They can’t see past taking assets from others, not realizing that continuing that standard of living requires an ongoing effort.

 

No doubt that is part of it. Mostly their re-election is their primary self interest concern.

That's a big issue.
But an even bigger issue is housing.

We know most of these immigrants are going to bigger city areas, as immigrants usually do. But right now all the desirable big city areas in the U.S. are experiencing a severe housing shortage, and it's like a crisis.

Not a lot of the lower level jobs pay enough to really afford housing in a growing number of the areas of the U.S. now. So there are going to be a lot of impoverished people.

And if anyone bothers to think about it, it should be obvious that most of these immigrants aren't going to be moving into big new houses. Rather they're going to take up the older and least expensive houses, which is just going to put more squeeze on lower income Americans since there's already an affordable housing shortage.
