Has the time come for an openly non christian president? If not now, then when? JFK had a hell of a time not all the long ago, and he was christian, just not protestant.

So how do you feel non Christians fair in the US political circus today?

Should it matter? No it shouldn't. I can't say for everyone, but when I look at a canadite, I don't care wheres/he prays, but what the policies are.

I agree, we are a secular nation, but it does not change the fact that every president thus far has claimed to be christian, and for Romney to win, it would mean a change in that stance.

Thomas Jefferson would be considered an athetist. Besides that, for some reason faith seems to break people apart.

Mitt Romney doesn't claim to be a Christian? That's news to me.

No one willing to comment on the satanist(s) that we've elected in the past?

That's not what you said. You said every president including the current one has claimed to be Christian, and that Mitt Romney would break that trend. Please point out when Mitt Romney has claimed to not be a Christian.

Since forever. It's the same thing as Protestants saying Catholics aren't real Christians, or vice-versa.

Not the same thing. Mormonism is considered by mainstream Christianity to be a Cult.

No, not really. Scientology is a cult. If you're referring to strange aspects of Mormonism then, well, each and every religion has them.

Mormonism as a whole is strange. If you dont believe me ask a Baptist congregation about Mormonism...

Trust me man. Mainstream Christians view Mormonism as a cult.

If Mormonism is Christian, then so is Islam.

Having a prophet after Christ, and said prophet being more important or as important as Christ pretty much goes against everything a christian(protestant or catholic) believe.

Most Christians do believe Mormonism to be a cult.

I know what most means, I'm asking how can you possibly know what most Christians think about Mormonism.

Because most of the Sect Leaders have spoken against Mormonism as a cult.

Seriously. It doesn't talk as Christ being the Savior, so it isn't Christian.

It views saints as saviors, equal to Christ...

best way to explain that they are two different religions
    1. they read not of the bible, but of the book of mormon.

    Just a few differences...

Mormons - Believe Jesus was not born God but became God later in life.
Christians- Believe Jesus was born God from day one.

Mormons- Believe God is one of many God's in the universe
Christians- Believe God is the one and only true God and creator.

Mormons- Believe there are three levels of heaven (no hell) and depending on how good of a Mormon you are will enter each level accordingly.
Christians- Believe there is one heaven and one hell. It is not by good works our salvation comes but is through having a relationship with God and acknowledging Jesus as our savior.

Mormons- Believe when you die you become a God.
Christians- Believe when you die you get to be with God.

Mormons- Follow the teachings and scriptures of Joseph Smith. And believe him to be a true prophet (The Book Of Mormon) the Bible is their secondary book. Mormons often have said they question the legitimacy of the Bible.
Christians- Believe in the Bible only and no other scriptures. Believe it is the true infallible word of God.

I will not have a Muslim as president of my country.

Mormons are a bit different but at least they are not that dangerous.
