    Christian:

    • Believes that Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary
    • Believes that Jesus was the son of God
    • Believes that Jesus died and was resurrected.

    Muslim:
    • Believes that Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary
    • Believes Jesus was only a prophet, not the son of God.
    • Believes that Jesus didn't die on the cross (people just thought he was dead) and therefore was not resurrected.

    Mormon:
    • Believes that Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary
    • Believes that Jesus was the son of God
    • Believes that Jesus died and was resurrected.

So which is closer to Christianity? Islam or a religion that calls itself the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

you are suggesting that a non-Christain cannot become president. I referenced 2008 because of the social barriers Obama broke when he got elected.

Anyone who cares what religion the POTUS is is an ignorant voter, imo.

When will Americans learn to focus on the issues and not the superficialities?

The day America turns the corner.

It is the way it is. If Obama had claimed any other faith he would not be there.

For now it is just the way it is.

Mormanism IS closer to Christianity. But it isn't Christian. I THINK Mormans believe we are all capable of being "sons of God", at the same level of Jesus. And I believe they believe in the concept of "other Gods" or something some such.

Do we have a Morman on board to discuss?

Kennedy was the first Catholic to become President and that in itself was a big deal back in the day. Obama is a black man who became president during a time when the public never believed such a thing could happen in this lifetime. Most Americans today still remember a time when Jim Crowism was the norm. Today we have a black president. Stranger things have happened.
