People traveling across borders. But it would be wayciss (actually, common sense...) to close them. It's called a global pandemic, for a good reason.

We need to get the relief bill through Congress. When the government forcibly idles the economy in order to protect our most vulnerable, I don't any expected Dems in Congress to go Mad Max.

Cruz hammers Dems: What the hell do emissions standards on airplanes have to do with fiscal relief for coronavirus?

Their Priorities are NOT those struggling through the government mandated shutdown. Some doubted that they loathed us. Some doubted that they cared about anything other than their own political ambitions.

Pelosi thinks she can get away with trying to get a Democrat policy wishlist passed at a moment of dire economic emergency because she trusts that the media will run interference for her and her party.

    And she’s right.

Speaking of Congressional Democrats Obstruction, Daniel Foster comments:

The terrifying truth about Democratic obstruction:

It isn’t that they don’t care about causing further economic damage.

    11:16 AM - Mar 23, 2020

Pelosi ransoming checks that people need to pay their rent in return for concessions on stuff like emissions standards. It’s unimaginable yet real. Like everything else these days.

Millions of people are eight days away from having to pay rent and mortgages. Here’s Cruz making his righteous contempt for Democrat tactics known on the Senate floor today.

Absolutely disgusting how they are using this crisis to push a political agenda.

On top of trump’s lack of leadership at this time of crisis, he now also has blood on his hands for touting snake oil treatments and causing the death of an Arizona man who took chloroquine to cure himself and his wife after following trump’s advice.
I really think we need to use the 25th amendment on trump. He’s a clear and present danger to our country.

Why are we so rapidly becoming the nation where this global pandemic is growing the fastest?

As for closing the borders, we did do that. It looks like it hasn't helped as much as we hoped.

Oh BS. He never advised anyone to self medicate. Are saying the drug has not been shown to work, in a %age who are treated with it?

Yup. They are showing Rand Paulian levels of stupidity and self-centeredness.

NBC’s Today: You’d Better Believe It Was Senate Dems Who Torpedoed Coronavirus Relief
    [IMG]
Mean Vile Haters of The American People

Democrats’ strategic debacle continued apace as news organizations report on their last-minute renege on the coronavirus relief package late yesterday. This is more of a headline than a substantive report, but nevertheless NBC’s Today show makes it clear that Democrats obstructed the bill. If Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer expected the media to carry their water, thus far they have miscalculated:

The new $2.3 trillion-coronavirus aid package was blocked by Senate Democrats on Capitol Hill, where there has also been a new case of the virus, @tomcostellonbc reports.

    4:10 AM - Mar 23, 2020

Despite some headline revisions yesterday on their initial reporting, the New York Times has opted this morning for clarity:

Senate Democrats on Sunday blocked action on an emerging deal to
prop up an economy devastated by the coronavirus pandemic, paralyzing the progress of a nearly $2 trillion government rescue package they said failed to impose strict enough restrictions on bailed-out businesses.
Apparently they think they are "letting this crisis go to waste" if they don't insist on Italian Style National Socialistic Control over independent businesses.

In voting to block action, Democrats risked a political backlash if they obstruct progress on a measure that is crucial to aid desperate Americans and prop up a flagging economy. They argued that Sunday was too soon to vote.

“This is irresponsible and unwise,” said Senator Susan Collins, Republican of Maine. “They are playing with fire.”
Rand Paul KNEW he was exposed and didn't self quarantine exposing an untold number in the US Senate. He used the Senate gym, swimming pool and carelessly congregated in the lunch room.

The move enraged Republicans, whose numbers were dwindling after Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky announced on Sunday that he had contracted the coronavirus and prompted two other senators to self-isolate and miss the vote that evening. The Democrat maneuver contravened days of bipartisan negotiations and jeopardized faith that Congress was capable of mustering a legislative salve for a shuddering economy.
If Pelosi and Schumer insist on paralyzing Congress out of fear that these measures will stimulate the economy, Trump will certainly do what he can through the lawful use of Executive Emergency Power.

Because of America's significantly-larger population, and the travel restrictions(that were called racist) that slowed the initial onset of the pandemic in America.

    Next question.

You proved the exact opposite of what you thought you were proving with that.

    Do you realize that now?

So you agree that the initial racist travel restrictions for China were the only measure taken by this Administration. And that, as expected, it only briefly slowed down the spread of the virus at the very beginning, while giving people a false sense of immunity.

Your conclusions and mine coincide. Trump should've done more. And we know why....

Okay, I guess I have to explain it to you.

Spain has a population of about 47 million.
France has a population of 67 million.
Germany has a population of 83 million.

That's a combined total of about 197 million.

The total of COVID cases in those 3 countries combined according to your YouTube presentation is about 70,000.

The US has a population of about 330 million.

The the total of COVID cases in those 3 countries combined according to your YouTube presentation is about 40,000.

A population of 197 million Europeans in 3 countries- 70,000 COVID cases.

A population of 330 million Americans- 40,000 COVID cases.

Do you see now how you proved the opposite of what you were trying to prove, or do you need me to explain it further?

And slowing down the spread of a virus is always a good thing. Your "false sense of immunity" claims are just foolish.

You proved the exact opposite of what you were trying to prove. Good work.

    What nonsense!

The US has a population density of 94 people per square mile. Spain has 243 people per Square mile. France has 309 people per square mile. Germany 623 people per square mile.

A virus doesn't stop at boarders. It does propagate thanks to proximity. More people per square mile, more proximity.

You need to do much much better than that!

Why have countries with a much higher population density than ours been able to contain it so much better than us?

And also, consider this: those countries are miles ahead of us in testing. It's very likely that we are undercounting only because not everybody who should be tested has been tested (another Trump lie, BTW)

THEY DRANK FISH-TANK CLEANER, THEY DID NOT SELF-ADMINISTER THE PROMISING PRESCRIPTION DRUG DRUG, BUT LOOK HOW CBS DESCRIBES IT: Arizona man dies, wife ill after taking drug touted as virus treatment: “Trump kept saying it was basically pretty much a cure.” It’s not a “drug touted as virus treatment.” It’s fish tank cleaner, with warning labels, containing an ingredient that sounds similar.

Press: Want people to stop thinking you’re garbage? Stop being garbage. And Fake News CBS, you’re garbage for running this story with this headline. Absolute garbage. And you don’t care, and we all know why.

    Sure. Orange Man Bad!

    Trump Likely To Blame.

NEW ORLEANS IS AN EPICENTER OF CORONAVIRUS. MARDI GRAS COULD BE TO BLAME, DOCTORS SAY: As of Tuesday afternoon, New Orleans had 567 of Louisiana’s 1,388 cases of coronavirus and 20 of the state’s 46 deaths.

HHS Secretary Alex Azar Lays Out How Trump Will Defeat Coronavirus ‘Invisible Enemy,’ Reopen America.

Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Alex Azar reports that President Donald Trump in the coming days will work with his medical and scientific advisers to make a determination on how and when to reopen the country after wide-scale closure in the effort to stop the spread of the Chinese coronavirus.

Azar said that the president will consult with White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Dr. Robert Redfield, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci, commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Dr. Stephen Hahn, among others, about the “curve” of the disease and how effective the extraordinary measures to stop its spread taken by Americans nationwide have been.

“The president will look at the data with his top medical advisers, people like Dr. Debbie Birx, Tony Fauci, Robert Redfield, Steve Hahn at FDA, as well as I’m sure outside advisers, and will make a decision in the next week whether to continue the 15 days or whether there are appropriate modifications he would make to the rest of the country,” Azar told Breitbart News in a phone interview on Tuesday afternoon. “For instance, whether it’s to look, as Dr. Birx I believe said yesterday in the press conference, to look at maybe focusing in localized areas instead of common national recommendations.”

Speaking of education, let's make sure we dont misuse words, like "advice". He advised no one to self medicate with fishtank cleaner. I would be embarrassed to try to make such a claim, but I'm me.

Do I really need to spell out to you the power of the bully pulpit that he has by virtue of his office?

I understand quite well stupid people are going to be stupid no matter what, and ingesting a fish tank of anti-parasite agent is a sure fire winner for the Darwin Awards. The irresponsible part of this is that Trump knows his audience, so why did he not think about the lowest common denominator of his fan club and think before he spoke about the ramifications of providing what many heard as practically a "cure"?

Of course there has been more than enough evidence to prove one thing as a solid fact; Trump thinks only of himself. How you can keep on denying all the ramifications of his personality is your business. The very fact you make excuses for his actions and all the excuses means you too have no value in ethics or morals. If you're fine with that, then there's nothing to talk about, because I don't buy bullchit.
