That 2asn't a tangent. Here's a tangent: My main point here is that if I'm pregnant, it's none of your business. A woman is under no obligation to tell the man who impregnated her, even if she's married to him. She need not tell anyone if she doesn't want to, so why is it the government's business? She should be free to go to her doctor and discuss only with her doctor any decision she makes about her medical condition. Since no one here seems willing or able to look this up, here is the constitional right to privacy upon which Roe v Wade is based: 4th Amendment: "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized." Section 1 of the 14th Amendment: "All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws." That's the relevant part where states are concerned ... no state law is alowed to trump the constituion and its amendments. If you guys can't lose the emotional "killing babies" crap and think of this issue logically and reasonably, at least familiarize yourselves with the applicable parts of the Constitution.
