States are responsible for public schools. They can make sure there is enough money for schooling. My guess is that local school districts would be irrelevant if vouchers replaced government-run schools.
If you're determined to convince your child of the existence of a personal god, I don't see how a religious school teaching the state curriculum (monitored to make sure it does--we don't need to finance a madrasa "teaching" children to recite the Qur'an) is going to be a problem. I taught school in a conservative community with lots of Christians--there is a Baptist university--and we examined the influence of religion in U.S. and world history. Parents, both sectarian and secular, were supportive. Everyone agreed you can't understand U.S. history without considering religion.
like I said, if a private school takes tax payer money, tax payers get a say in what they do - the state or fed can add strings to that money
I being a stepfather have fathered 10 children in all. They were not told by me to do what you said. When this comes up with my two daughters, it is not along the lines of what you commented about. I am very confident that GOD exists and no matter the religion, GOD remains there. My last wife was very involved in the JW religion but from what the children tell me, several follow the JW but her sons save one and my daughter do not. My eldest step son that I live with once put a lot of time with the LDS religion that I am a member of but has not attended church at all since I moved in with him at his invitation. He is retired himself.
How fond are you of being a ward of Government? Having them make your decisions merely because you spent money on Government?
not gonna say, be against the rules and too lazy to go look for a post where you said.... but not needed anyways, as you should already now that
What language would you like to see my comments in? How fond are you of being a ward of Government? Having them make your decisions merely because you spent money on Government?
Well to some extent they are like that. I personally had not thought of that before but you brought up the connection.
Oh, it is about sex. Frankly it is now pro choice but I am holding on to the idea the Feds will get it right in the future to protect the child.
