http://www.cnn.com/2015/02/03/world/isis-captive/index.html A truly sickening act of medieval barbarism. I'm curious to see how Jordan responds.
It's hard to imagine what the pilot went through for such a horrific death, and now what his family is dealing with. ISIS is showing the world that they mean business, and our president responds with referring to ISIS as an "organization", refusing to use the term terrorism or islamic radicals. The USA is no longer the powerful country it once was and ISIS sees this loud and clear.
ISIS is not winning hearts and minds. Jordan is a predominantly Sunni / Muslim country, well over 90%. Eventually they will begin to anger their own and be seen for what they are...basically nut bars.
The only reason it's not happening here is because Muslims are outnumbered 99 to 1. If progressives had their way with "diversity", though, we'd have a lot more, here, similar to what is happening in Europe.
You miss the point. ISIS wants us to respond with the same level of brutality they do. It's not about being tough, it's about being smart.
I'd wager a sizable chunk of those Muslims in Jordan would have supported this if the pilot had been a US military member, or any other non-Muslim. The "hearts and minds" of those so called moderates are not really a prize to begin with.
OMG they are savages!! That is why they couldn't prove he was alive to make the swap----because he wasn't. I hope the Jordanians do what they said they would. But there are some who want to make excuses for these animals.
Those airstrikes are not enough, it hasn't done anything to stop ISIS. Please carry on? So you feel the president is doing enough to stop this "organization", like it's the AARP or something.
Many Sunni Muslim leaders have publically rejected the Caliphate proposed by ISIS. ISIS is murdering many Muslims as a result. ISIS has killed in cold blood anyone who rejects their ideology, including their fellow Sunni. One of the victims in the attack on the French cartoon HQ was a Muslim, but apparently he wasn't Algerian, so in thier mind, his death was justified. These are nuts, perpetrating this, the vast majority of the people they are terrorizing are Muslim. They don't fit into the narrow spectrum of ideology proposed by these extremists and they feel justified in killing them. The "Islamic State" seeks to obliterate diverse Muslim identities by expelling or killing all Shias and Sunni Sufis. This is a Shia mosque ISIS is dynamiting.... They do the same to Sufi shrines. Muslims are suffering under ISIS as well...this Jordanian pilot who was burned alive, was a Muslim.
For how much longer will you or I be able to say that? That is a question that should be posed to our president. When will he lead rather than follow?....
