What is so hard about Israel not shooting Palestinians?

Assuming not all those shot died instantly, where were the wounded to go for medical aid, now with the hospitals destroyed and medical supplies unavailable?

What kind of human values does Israel have that they decide to slaughter a starving crowd hoping for food aid at a distribution point?

 

We should cut them off, or threaten to cut them off as leverage for getting them to stop. They can occupy gaza. Arrest or kill people who attack them. But this offensive has gone too far and cannot achieve its stated goals anyway. The deal should be all hostages in exchange for peace, but that for now gaza will be directly controlled by Israel. I do believe in a 2-state solution, but obviously it's not the time if it could ever happen.

 

Israel has gone beyond the pale. I can't imagine most Israelis support this barbarity. I hope they don't. I like to think they are just being silenced by draconian government measures.

 

What we're seeing is the reason that a two state solution is absolutely required.

We already see what it means for Israel to rule Palestinian lands.

The notion that Israel could rule Gaza is as ridiculous as the notion of Israel ruling West Bank - a startling humanitarian atrocity that has the same roots - Israel seeing Palestinians as having absolutely NO human rights, and believing that it's legitimate for Palestinians to be bulldozed and killed.

It's a matter of the long existing government of Israel - Likud, Netanyahu, and the rest.

The people of Israel are protesting these atrocities in large numbers.

Yeah maybe they'd be better off just withdrawing completely, closing their border with Gaza for the foreseeable future, and leaving Gaza to its own devices and any international aid that comes their way through egypt. But they'd still have the west bank as an issue. It would be hard to argue that israel didn't retaliate adequately for what happened in October, as a response to anybody saying it would let Hamas win.

Good idea. Gaza could build a port, reopen its airport and start supporting itself, as it has in the past.

Israel has a DUTY to ensure that Palestinians in Gaza have adequate food, water and shelter.

It doesn't have to be supplied by Israel, but it does have to be allowed to be supplied.

 

People are finally waking up to what israel really is. All the zionists need to be packed up and moved to Australia. This bullshit will go on until they kill off all the Palestinians and then they start (I mean finish what they've already started) on the Lebanese. Then it'll be Syria. And so on.

Netanyahu has stated that the goals are the permanent rule of Israel from the Jordan to the sea.

I don't know of a better time for creating a two state solution. We now know clearly what Israel intends and how they plan to carry it out. Allowing them to continue in Gaza and West Bank can not be accepted.

 

Eradicating Hamas from the Gaza Strip would be the best possible outcome for Gazan civilians.

 

That goal is a fiction.

It is well known that you can not eradicate terrorists by killing the citizens. In fact, killing citizens is a way of creating terrorists.

 

That is the objective of Israel. And the hope of Gazan civilians.

Why would you believe that the persons stealing humanitarian aid are Gazan civilians?

 

Why don’t you cite how many Palestinians got shot to justify using the phrase “mowing down”.
