Gilos, here is my summary, because I do not think that we in fact disagree:

The only diaspora resulting from a great expulsion of the Jews from their land was the one to Babylon. And they were allowed to return from that.
For the rest most of the diasporas were the result of Jews chosing to live in other countries ... for a variety of reasons. The Helenistic diaspora was huge, but it was one of choice.

So in fact, the diasporas were mostly voluntary. That is my conclusion and I have tried hard to be thorough and fair.

If you got a real study about the numbers from Helenistic period I'd like to read it, its doesnt change much since you know many stayed and lived by the era of the Romans,

You compleatly disregarded the Roman exile, events that you yourself posted, why ?

    Um.

What are you on about 'can't think of an answer'.

It was me who mentioned this to start with.

And since my answer you did nothing but evade, but im flexable, lets have another go shall we?

You denied there was a Diaspora, both KK and me gave you several events that prove Jews were exiled on diffrent occasions in varius amount, some as you said left willingly, some did convert, many were chased out and kept their anceint ways in exile, that's how you have Jews till this day, it wasnt some project a few Muslims took on themselves to revive Judasim bacause they were bored....., simple logic and facts on the ground.

Now, what is it exactly that you disagree with me on my reply to KK ?

    - - - Updated - - -

Then you too chose to forget about the Romans, and their part of History was fairly large, any reason you deny the Roman exile my dear ?

Everything stated in your OP is a lie and overt propaganda, Makhul is not in the West Bank, this was not a Palestinian village, it was a squatter village composed of Israelis in Israel proper:

Makhul (Hebrew: מַכְּחוּל) is a Bedouin village in the Negev desert in southern Israel. Located near Tel Arad, it falls under the jurisdiction of al-Kasom Regional Council. In 2011, it had a population of 226.[1]

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Makhul

This shanty town was built on state land without permit or lease, they would have been destroyed in any first world country on the planet including yours, so spare us your overt propaganda regarding ethnic cleansing, the claim that this was a Palestinian village in the West Bank has been thoroughly debunked, way to fail.

Overt lie and utter bull(*)(*)(*)(*), Makhul is in the Southern Negev in Israel proper, these were not Palestinians they were Israeli citizens building on Israeli state land without permit or lease, this shanty town would have been destroyed in ever single first world nation on the planet:

Makhul (Hebrew: מַכְּחוּל) is a Bedouin village in the Negev desert in southern Israel. Located near Tel Arad, it falls under the jurisdiction of al-Kasom Regional Council. In 2011, it had a population of 226.[1]

This is why no one takes anti-Israel propagandists seriously, they have been caught in far to many overt lies.

Sorry, Gilos, I tried but I couldn't find estimates of numbers. Here is a reference to the Jews of the Helenistic period: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hellenistic_Judaism
Today I managed to find online copies of the various volumes of the Cambridge History of Judaism. I hope you find that a worthwhile reference to your people's history. Here it is: http://home.lu.lv/~harijs/Macibu materiali ,teksti/Cambrige Ancient History/

Unfortunately Volume 2 on the Helenistic period appears to be missing.

    -------------------------------

Regarding the diaspora that resulted from the Roman conquest, I have disregarded it because the data is conflicting. Josephus (you can find online copies of his works - https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/The_War_of_the_Jews) in "The Jewish War", Book VI, Chapter 9 Section 2, contradicts himself with what Fronto did and what Titus did. Also, this applied only to Jerusalem. So it seems that indeed there was a Roman diaspora, but seemingly to the provinces. Josephus has been severely criticised for his extravagant estimations of numbers and proportions of populations. Other than his conflicting story, I could find nothing.

Here is Cambridge History of Judaism Volume 4 - the late Roman-Rabbinic Period (again thanks to Wiki): http://home.lu.lv/~harijs/Macibu ma...l. 4. The Late Roman-Rabbinic Period 2008.pdf At one point it mentions that after the 70CE revolt about half the population of Palestine was Jewish, but later it says that Jews were in the majority in the 3rd and 4th centuries. On page 29 it speaks of elite Jews "loosening their attachment to Judaism". On the next page it explains why the Romans considered that they had "stamped out Judaism" but this has little to do with any forced expulsion. On page 38 there is a description of the changes in population with the centuries, and the lack of data in the 2nd and 3rd Cs. In the next chapter the numbers from Josephus appear to be accepted. In other words, because of the sparse record, the evidence is a mess.

If you can make more sense of it, I would welcome hearing your interpretation.

Murdoch's conservative philosophy for his media ownership via News Corporation, including Fox News and the Weekly Standard.. You can read about it here: http://www.newyorker.com/archive/2006/10/16/061016fa_fact1?printable=true

SpaceCricket relying on the Weekly Standard (still no reference from him) for his claim that the "statute of limitation has run out on land theft" is disturbing. It is like relying on The Institute for Historical Review for your information on the holocaust. It has very little credibility.

Khirbat al-Makhul is in the West Bank.

The OP had nothing to do with Makhul in the Negev, Face Your. Walk it off. Why are you wriggling so much? The OP is crystal clear. The EU diplomats were not in the Negev.

It's the same village, please provide a map or any official document from either Israel or the PA which differentiates between Makhul and Khirbat al-Makhul.

Makhul is not in the West Bank in the Southern Negev right outside of the West Bank in Israel proper.

It is defamation only in the eyes of those who are uncomfortable with the truth.
Fact; the UN has condemned settlement building in the Occupied Territories as illegal under international law.
    Fact; the USA agrees.
Fact; your government is condoning, encouraging and supporting illegality and law-breaking.

You tell me which of the above is not factual.

I showed you that even the Israeli media acknowledged that Khirbat al-Makhul was in the West Bank. Does the Israeli media not know where it is?
Given those sources why would I want to follow your demand to find a map of a village with a population of 120?

Haaretz saysfurthermore that Khirbat al-Makhul is in the Jordan valley!!
Your Makhul (in Israel) is at 520 metres above sea level, at least 20 km away from the nearest edge of the Valley.

The data stacks against you. Walk it off.

So, since 2006 the percentage of Arabs in Israel has grown from 20% to nearly 30%!!!!!?????

Where do you find your data, Face Your. I am intrigued, not only how a village at 530m above sea level can be in the Jordan Valley. And how a figure of 22% in late-July can become nearly 30% now.
    http://www.jpost.com/Opinion/Op-Ed-Contributors/Israels-fast-evolving-demography-320574

By the way, that is also a fact that comes from the Israeli media. Are the all wrong?

    Probably not.

But I do know that Haretz publish two very different versions of their online publication.

There is one for the Western world.

And another for them. And it is very different. Not just the language, the actual stories and nuance therein.

I also know that one of the owners, or majority owners, his family owned a National Socialist publishing house.

What childish use if the Merriam-Webster dictionary. My use was 100% structured and logical. Are you trolling?

OK, just to humour you, let us look at the UN definition and apply the same tests:

Your definition also fits the facts perfectly, Face Your. Sorry, but I cannot allow the Myths to remain unchallenged.

Face Your, are you SERIOUSLY trying to convince us that the Palestinian population of the territory that Israel conquered between 1948 and 1950 did not experience a dramatic decrease? The UN estimate of a drop of 710 000 out of about 1 250 000 was totally ficticious?

Gilos ... please take this guy behind the barn. and ...... teach him.

    -----------------------------------
Or is it that you know that, but try to sweep the gross cleansing under the carpet by pointing to the fact that AFTERWARDS, the numbers grew back up again? Breed, ya buggers, then the Ethnic Cleansing will go away!! Is that it?
