I see that this pipeline runs through Palestinian waters. I wonder if they were consulted or whether they receive any form of payment ?

Palestinian Statehood will bring an end to many lucrative enterprises conducted by corrupt businessmen on behalf of their Zionist clients. It will also benefit honest businessmen and decent Israelis.

You cannot be further from the truth than that.
The Gas line to Israel stopped operation months ago.
The pipe currently provide gas only to Jordan.
They bombed the gas supply to Jordan in order to blackmail the Egyptian government.
As usual, there will always be someone who will exploit your blinded hate to Israel to abuse you some more.

It will happen, regardless of any veto by the US of AIPAC . The expected veto may even be overruled by the General Assembly. This is an extraordinary executive measure utilized when the veto of a Security Council member threatens world peace. You obviously aren't aware of that or your post would not consist of such unwarranted and smug arrogance.

    The bigger they come...........

No, it has been repaired several times already. Perhaps you'd be better employed telling us how the Palestinians profit from having gas to Zionists pumped through their territorial waters.

Not in your wildest dreams. If you wants to see the US put an an end to the corrupt UN, that's the way to do it. And the world as a whole would be better off without it.

Israel's been doing just fine without Egyptian gas for months now, it's an inconvenience and nuisance, nothing more, nothing less. The pipeline was recently restored to Jordan only, not to Israel.

Meanwhile the unemployment, poverty and crime have more than doubled in Egypt in less than a year. They can drink their gas though.

Mon Toy , In the eyes of the international community , Washington's UNSC Veto will reflect on poorly on America on Palestinians, who have exposed Washingtons subservience to another nation. - not in American peoples best long term interest.

But one shouldnt be surprised that such matters would have gone over your + others like you, - heads .

The vote will be rejected without the need of US veto.

It doesn't matter anyway because they will get non member status which allows them entry to the ICC and ICJ and that's the real reason the US and Israel cannot suffer Palestinian statehood.
Too many criminal cases and Interpol arrest warrants will be filed.

They blew it up again today.. The bedouin want their youth released from prison.

(EL-ARISH, Egypt) — Suspected Islamist militants on Tuesday attacked a gas pipeline in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula that transports fuel to neighboring Israel and Jordan, officials said.

The attack, which targeted a pumping station about 15 miles (25 kilometers) west of the city of el-Arish, is the sixth on the pipeline since the popular uprising that ousted longtime Egyptian leader Hosni Mubarak in February. (See pictures of heart

Security officials said gunmen drove up to the pumping station in two pickup trucks before dawn Tuesday. Shortly after the assailants arrived, a loud explosion rocked the station, and large orange flames lit up the sky. One guard was injured and two people suffered burns after their nearby huts caught fire.

The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief the media, said an initial investigation indicated the gunmen planted explosives at the station. One of the officials blamed the attack on "extremist militants inspired by al-Qaeda," saying they have carried out past strikes on the pipeline.

Three lines branch out from the pumping station in el-Maydan — one to Israel, a second to Jordan, and a third to Egypt's domestic market.

The Egyptian and Jordanian lines were shut down following Tuesday's attack. The Israeli pipeline has not been functioning since an attack in July forced it to shut down.

The Egyptian government is also trying to discuss a new deal with Israel as it faces huge public pressure that the old pricing was too low.

Al-Qaeda-inspired militants have been increasingly active in Sinai since Mubarak's ouster on Feb. 11, taking advantage of the security vacuum caused by the abrupt withdrawal of police forces. Authorities have blamed the militants for attacks on police patrols as well as the previous five on the gas pipeline.

A powerful Bedouin group in Sinai warned Tuesday that they will not cooperate with authorities against such attacks unless the government releases thousands of Bedouin youth from prisons.

"The sons of Sinai are not responsible for anything happens on Sinai land and will not take part in the protection measures unless the government releases thousands of our people," Salem Uneizan, spokesman for the "Coalition of Free Sinai Sons" said.

Tensions are escalating between the nomad Bedouins in Sinai and the Egyptian government. The Bedouins accuse the authorities of discrimination and of ignoring their plight.

The government last month deployed thousands of troops there as part of a campaign to contain the explosive situation there after the most brazen assault when hundreds of masked militants armed with rocket-propelled grenades and automatic weapons stormed a police station in el-Arish, killing five people and wounding 28. They also spread pamphlets calling for the imposition of Islamic Sharia law.

What does that have to do with the Egyptian gas? Poverty in Israel is slightly higher than it's in the US (16%) or the EU states (between 10 and 23%) mostly due to Israeli arabs and the Haredim (both groups preferring unlimited number of children and state allowances to birth control and jobs). Needless to say that the Israeli poverty line would represent unheard-of prosperity in Egypt and most other islamic theocracies.

The Israeli government decided to prevent Israeli tourists from entering Egypt, particularly to touristic areas in Sinai. They claim it is dangerous to spend their Jewish holidays in Sinai since they expect terrorist attacks in Egypt.

Many Israeli tourists spend their holidays in Sinai. Israeli newspapers Jerusalem Post Haaretz, Yedioth Ahronoth and Israel’s national channel two reported the Israeli government ordered army forces to prevent tourists from going to Sinai even if they must use force to prevent any entry.

Not sure if that version is true because chicken and pigeon farms were burned to the ground in the explosion belonging to the bedouin.
Why would they burn down their own property and animals?
Bedouin would never burn their own livestock and destroy their own farms.

I haven't seen any news reports on chicken farms..

The bedouin won't protect the pipeline for $80 a month unless their kids are let out of prison.

This probably goes back to the recent Salafist convoy that went from Alex to Cairo unto Sina where they attacked the police station in Arish and were waving the Saudi flags from their pick up trucks.
It seems the government want bedouin help to control them and they say not without releasing bedouin prisoners in exchange.
That explains why the chicken farms were targeted too then.
Possibly a warning to the bedouin not to help the government.
