What he is doing is committing political suicide. He has already pulled the trigger. He could at least try to do the moral thing, that would actually help America's stance in the world, rather than making us no better than Iran by sponsoring terrorists.
His career is over either way. No way does he ever hold any office again, including President. Maybe he could salvage some of his soul.

I seriously doubt Biden makes it to the election, health wise, let alone win after the debates. No one will vote for him if he refuses to debate anyway, and no one will vote for him when he gets his ass handed to him at the debates. He barely has the mental faculties to just speak at the podium, let alone hold his own in a vigorous debate.

Of course SOME die-hards will still vote for him regardless, but he has alienated a huge segment of the left. He is in trouble, big time, politically.

 

If he really wants to bring drug companies to heel, Kennedy should go after them for the amount they charge. He's doing a lot of damage zeroing in on vaccines.

That is part of RFK's position, and has been for a long time. He's not 'zeroing in on vaccines.' The media is doing that. I found this, underneath about 50 articles (many just regurgitations of eachother) on how he's such a 'conspiracy theorist' that make no mention of his many other more mainstream reforms he calls for in the medical and pharmaceutical industries.

RFKs full platform is not going to be delivered for you by corporate media. They butter their bread on the pharmaceutical advertizing side, and RFK is a threat to that money train. If you wanna know what he's really about, you're gonna have to go looking for it yourself.

You missed the point anyway. The thread is more about people acting on perceptions than on factual evidence. I thought I made that clear with the pissing hookers that never happened.

 

Yeah, it's clear and been clear for a while that Israel is targeting the civilian population of Gaza and that to me is a red line. One of the reasons I thought terrorists to be cowardly was attacking civilian populations, instead of military targets. Is the Israeli military that inept that it cannot decisively defeat HAMAS without resorting to war crimes?

Biden knows what's going on. He's pandering to an element in his party that's akin to MAGA types on the right--destructive and uninterested in issues facing other people.

 

He has the option of countering the media narrative and isn't.

How exactly is he supposed to counter the corporate media narrative? He goes on pretty much any platform that will have him to get his message out. The corporate media cherry picks out what fits its narrative and reports nothing else. How does one get CNN/MSNBC/WP/NYT/etc to report things they dont want to report? How does one get folks to instead pay attention to alternative media sources?

 

Tell people something they don't know. Play against type--NYC Mayor Adams. Propose intelligent solutions. Force them to report what you say for fear they're going to miss out on something interesting.
