I work on commission, people have to have the "good graces" to buy from me. It is not ludicrous it is quite lucrative. Tipping and working as a waiter is not much different.

    Me>> net income/sales = x

What does x have to hit to become MEGA profit?

    - - - Updated - - -

    And what is that number?

Sorry but you will have to explain yourself a little more clearly. What is X in the equation, the one that calculates profit, I gave you when it hits MEGA. And since no company has unlimited sales or income your response makes no sense.

So you admit Wal-Mart and the oil companies are not greedy since they make no where near a 50% profit.

I think you are misconstruing something here. Pay out of what? The server makes their minimum wage that cannot be taken from them or can they be made to pay to work there. So if the customer has a $100 bill and they don't tip, pay out of what?

They have lots of choices what are you talking about?

The job of the services staff IS to get you to spend MORE money and to COME BACK that is why they get tips along with ensuring they provide to patron good and prompt service.

If they suck then they get a bad tip and do a disservice to the eatery. Interesting.

I see nothing wrong with giving someone a tip for a good job, but places that charge the tip as part of the bill regardless of service should be shut down.

Also, the minimum wage for tipped workers should be hired so they do not have to rely on tips to make a living.

That is hown tipping works. Places that charge a tip no matter what are usually horribably ran (*)(*)(*)(*)holes. The staff knows they are getting money no matter what and don't care about service.

One Couple was arrested for paying the bill, but refusing the tip over bad service. They claimed that they had to wait 1 hour before the even being asked if they wanted anything, and another hour before their order was brought. They were charged with theft, for refusing to pay the tip, because it was part of the bill, despite the fact that they gave every cent of the actual cost and taxes. This was back in 2009. I read another articles, but I can't find it online, that the couple sued the pub for slander, because they claimed the couple had skipped out on the entire bill.
