They have 800 in storage — "The governor has predicted the peak to occur some time in the next several weeks. When that time arrives, we will ensure that ventilators are distributed among the regions of the state with the greatest need," Bruno said.

They received 2,000 from the federal stockpile that are currently being deployed and another 2,000 coming that will be deployed as soon as they arrive — what is 800 minus 4,000?

Almost like they are trying to prepare for what is most likely going to happen...
They would rather sit on a few to make sure they can meet future need — how dare they...

Since when did it become the job of the Federal Govt to make sure hospitals are stocked with equipment?

Maybe the NY Governor should have spent $750 million on medical supplies instead of solar panels.

You would rather be ripped off by the government mafia instead. OK, that is a choice.

We see this morning that in 2006, NYC was buying respirators to be prepared for a pandemic. However, these do need maintenance, and they have rubber parts that age. NYC decided that it was too expensive to store and maintain them, so- it auctioned them off, some 500 machines. Did not replace them. Seems like previous administrations accepted the responsibility, where the current one just figured- somebody else will cover for us.

It's always questionable to place your welfare in the hands of others, because what people say and what they will do are often completely flexible according to how they benefit. We have also just learned about another incident. When China was first in trouble and the rest of the world had not been hit yet, Italy made a large donation of PPE equipment to China, which mostly went unused. Then as China's needs dwindled and Italy's skyrocketed, China made a deal to return those PPE's to Italy...for a price.
THEY SOLD THEM BACK TO THE PEOPLE WHO HAD DONATED THEM.

This is why wise leaders never trust governments or the superficial, apparent motives they try to portray.
Governements, including ours- should never be trusted without question.
