It's Official, the CDC has changed the definition of vaccination

This circular argument with shifting goals is why a lot of people don't trust official information. I can't imagine how it would have been greeted if we had been told the polio vaccine won't protect you but it will keep you out of the iron lung.

It's you that is flailing around, as usual. The layman doesn't care about the mechanism which confers immunity, it's the result that matters. And the results for the covid shots are dismal.

Don't you know anything? Vaccination was never about immunity. It's always been about getting less sick. The new CDC definition has always been the real definition.

Americans were less apt to accept bullshit in the 1950's. If New York led the nation in polio deaths despite being the most vaccinated state, people would actually wonder why. Now only half the country does that.

 

Anti vaxers are not confusing anyone, it's the shifting messages from the pro vax side.

yep, that has always been what a vaccine has done, it's never been a prophylactic like a condom

a vaccine only tries to train your immune system to identify the virus when it does enter the body, the vaccine does nothing more than that, the rest is up to your own immune system

I don't dispute that they are safe but they certainly aren't as effective as they are being represented to be.

 

The news media often portrays anti-vaxxers as right-wing. But, traditional left-wing concerns about corporate influence mesh well with anti-vax fears that the pharmaceutical industry pushed federal regulatory agencies to sign off on the COVID-19 vaccines before they were ready. An affinity for naturopathy and organic produce (hippies, students, et al) isn’t too far removed from rejecting the industrialization of modern medicine in the form of a shot.

 

There was a time when liberals advocated strongly "my body, my choice". Those days are gone. The liberals have become authoritarians in the pocket of Pharma.
