    That's not what brought Sweden to the alleged peak. What brought them to that peak was a UNIFIED citizenry, a culture of honour and social responsibility, and free market capitalism. You can call that 'socialist democracy', but it's as you say .. merely the name given to a particularly successful CULTURE.

    Sweden has since been brought undone by the incursion of incompatible cultures - so the unity necessary for any sucessful society is lost. The honour and social responsibility of the native culture is now horribly diluted by cultures without that honour and social responsibility - and henceforth any politics will reflect that new dynamic.

    Oh, so you are one of THOSE posters, huh? The kind who says something and, as soon as it meets a challenge he can't handle, doesn't even have the integrity to admit having said it. Well, that shows just how unworthy your comments are, to be regarded seriously if even you so quickly deny ownership of them.

    Maybe you don't understand what I said because your English comprehension is poor. In any case, my patience with you has just run out. Goodbye.

    @Thingamabob

    In the unlikely event that you made specific mention of Soviet leader khrushchev's moving nukes to Cuba being the FIRST TIME (and there has not been a 2nd), and followed that with saying that it might be time for Putin to administer ANOTHER spanking to the U.S., but did NOT mean to suggest it having anything to do with moving nukes to Cuba, either your proficiency in using the English language, or in coherently expressing yourself, in general, are at a remedial level. Therefore, you have no cause or justification, other than immaturity & a lack of manners, to make insulting remarks to someone who did-- if that were the unlikely case-- misunderstand you, due to your own ineptitude at communication.

    Ok. I guess we live among different circles of people. Its possible I don't know any real "leftist progressives".

    Socialism and communism both do that + communism also forbids private property and typically also religion.

    Using Stalin and Kim in North Korea as typical yard-stick examples of Communism is like pointing at all of the misdeeds perpetrated by the US and using them as typical examples of what Capitalism/Democracy is all about. Duh. I say Duh! :nerd:

    That's State stuff, and totalitarian.

    Regular communism (aka, voluntary collectivism) actually depends upon private property. It's crucial to the model, since it's the only true autonomy.

    Communism relies on public ownership of all property.

    That's State 'communism', which isn't communism at all - it's totalitarianism.

    Collectivism (ie, real communism) can only work when it's 100% voluntary.
