? The committee did not act like a court nor a prosecutor it turned over it’s findings to the DOJ. If the DOJ believes there is sufficient evidence to of a crime the case goes forward.

After Republicans filibustered the first committee in the Senate, forcing Pelosi to initiate a special committee, she had every right to reject McCarthy, Jordan and Banks all of whom had declared that the committee was illegitimate.

The two that McCarthy selected that Pelosi accepted weren't 'likely to go along with the democrats' given that they were McCarthy's choices, but at least they weren't on record as declaring the committee as illegitimate. At the minimum, she has a right to reject those who do not believe in the committee's mission. But, no, McCarthy, instead of reselecting two more that might have accepted the committee's mission, he pulled out completely like a petulant child. When history called on McCarthy to show leadership, he acts like a petulant child.

The will of the voters was to elect Joe Biden. I agree with the voters in this case since the GOP put up a what amounts to a criminal.
The will of the voters in 2018 was to elect Cheney as their Congresswoman. That will I agree with. The voters rejected Cheney in the primary because she did not lie for Trump, did not try to cover up the fact that Trump lost the election fair and square. That will of the voters in the 2020 primary I do not agree with. There is a part of the 1/6 report that documents Trump was made aware "a civilian" had been shot in the chest inside the Capital at approx. 2:40 PM, some 60 minutes before he made a statement to the public about the riot.

 

He is correct....it violates the separation of powers...the legislative branch doing the executive branches job.... Prohibiting Bills of Attainder, prohibition meant to prevent 'trial by legislature.'

I'm sure not everyone at DoJ is pleased with the public nature of the 1/6 committee's work. It gives potential defendants the DoJ's playbook, telling them what is known and providing the opportunity for other potential defendants to communicate in order to get their story's straight.

Perversely, the suit is based on the illegal theory Eastman pitched to Trump as a way to overturn the election. Showing conclusively that Eastman knew his theory, replacing legit slates of electors with fake ones, would not hold up to scrutiny in court. And it didn't. But that didn't stop Eastman and Trump from trying to convince Pence to use it to delay Biden's certification.
