Actually it is a test case and no it's not OK.

Sweden is "rethinking" their stupid decision to allow people to get sick and die.

Probably because they have 10 times the death rate as their neighbor Norway...5 times per capita

I know the answer but I'm willing to give him a few hours to dissect the question and come up with an answer on his own.

The county ultimately released the records, including the names of the dead.

    Perhaps that is the issue?

saying the discussions pertained to “privacy concerns for the individuals that passed away related to COVID-19.

    I did.

Yes, I still think Rubin will be proven correct. For some proof regarding the impact of this virus based on the media messaging favored by the victims, see:
Viewers of Sean Hannity more likely to die from COVID-19 than those of Tucker Carlson: study

    Two points further:

    1) Using the State alignment as proof for the voting ideologies of the deceased is flawed. There are two times as many Republicans in New York as there are in Alabama.

    2) Her Prediction is based on the entire length of this pandemic. The outbreak is shifting and while this virus started in metropolitan areas, it will reach rural areas and hit them hard.

I agree, which is why a month and a half ago I made this prediction:

There are more Republicans living as "city dwellers" than Republicans living as "rural folks."

    And many, many more Democrats.

What trends are you seeing that make you think Rubin will ultimately be correct? Do you think other states are going to see their death rate increase many-fold to match New York's? Wyoming has had 12 deaths / million people. New York has had 1,222. Wyoming needs to have a hundred-fold increase just to match where New York is today. Do you think that's going to happen?

No. But the willingness to view this virus as not serious will result in a disproportionate amount of risky behavior by Republicans in the hardest hit areas as compared to Democrats. Sufficient enough to make up for the voter ideology discrepancies in those areas. And then, when the virus does take a larger toll in more Republican leaning areas (and it will), then the overall numbers will be such that Rubin is proved ultimately correct.

So far, "disproportionate amount of risky behavior" is getting absolutely SWAMPED by population density, unless you think New Yorkers are engaging in many times more risky behavior than the populations of other states.

Speaking of engaging in risky behavior:

Do you think African-Americans are getting seriously ill at higher rates because they listen to Sean Hannity?

As I said, there are many times more Republicans in high density populated areas than low density populated areas.

So the question is not high density vs low density if you want to evaluate Rubin's claim. It is Republicans in high density vs Democrats in high density and Republicans in low density vs Democrats in low density.

No, Rubin's claim was about overall Republican vs Democrat deaths. High-density areas are heavily Democrat. Low-density areas are heavily Republican. Your proposed analysis would have us ignore this fact.

No, it doesn't. I explicitly embraced that disparity and said that differences in behavior within those regions would make up for the discrepancy.

It sounds like we agree that there are other cultural issues that may contribute to infections aside from political ideology. Would you agree that, so far at least, those other issues seem to be rather starkly outpacing (and in a way that's been particularly bad for Democrats) the political ideology-divide you still expect to emerge at some point?
