More than one? Two maybe? That's more than one. In other words not a lot. It’s not much at all in comparison to the many sexual abuse cases by Catholic priest.....that organization is the worst. If it were another orgainzation with a track record as bad as that Church it would have been shutdown a long time ago......so I smell a rat. That Church may well be a front for pedophile and the selling of children as sex slaves.

John Geoghan for example became murdered in the jail Souza-Baranowski in August/23/2003. Still I don't have any idea what he had really done and why he became murdered. It's impossible for me to find out what the facts were and as well the american system of justice as the anglo-american view on sexual behavior are for me not understandable. In gerneral I was also very dissapointed about Germany when the theme "sexual abuse" became the worst wave of senseless propaganda I had ever seen in my life here. Since this days the words "abuse" and "misuse" in the german language are expressions for everthing bad and nothing special any longer.

---I choose not to believe in absolutes. My believing that sexual repression is a cause of pathological behavior does not dismiss the fact that some genuine homosexuals wrapped in the garb of a priest have committed crimes. I said that I was inclined, not that I cannot be reasoned with.

Whatelse than to repress pedophile behavior do you suggest as long as pedophilia is without any chance to become healed?

I wonder how many of the victims of sexual abuse by the priest been interviewed? If other organization was involved in something that is illegal, they would have government undercover agents sent in. But there is no doubt that there are powerful people in the government and outside of it that is involved in pedophile and the Catholic Church.

The very deed and evil hate of big parts of the american society against Mr. Roman Polanski is by the way for me one of the not understandable sides of the anglo-american society.

Well, then the line that you must meet is called evidence. Its what drives our court system and all the emotion and accusations of being a front child sexual slavery?

    That is bunk.

No doubt the church erred and erred greviously.

Child sexual slavery is a very real problem, and if anyone is genuinely interested in putting a top to it - then take your sights off the Catholic Church and aim it at prostitution (demand), Human Traffickers (The Supply Chain), and poverty and a lack of education (Creates a supply of victims to be victimized) - that will have an impact on that problem.

Using RICO to take down the Catholic Church? That will impact nothing for those trapped in sexual bondage.

Really? As an atheist who clearly detests the Catholic Church your opinion is noted and about relevant as a miner talking about the effects of wind speed at altitude.

In short, you don't have a damb clue what you are talking about when it comes to celebacy and vows of chastity.

How could you? You clearly think that sex controls your life, that you are powerless to prevent its warping influence in you (but of course, you chastize those who fail this inevitablity anyway - even though it is inevitable?)

Try taking an actual vow of chastity and see what actually happens. I think that you will find that sex problem is with you, not with the vast majority of Catholic Priests who are celebate and doing quite well by not raping either men or women (which, according to you, they should all be doing, but don't let a little reality get in the way of a perfectly good smear.)

Do you know what priests say is the real sacrcifice of their order? It isn't sex.

    It's family.

But I guess we learned today what is important to at least one athiest.

In Germany the newspapers always were reporting about cases of child absue. That's nothing new. Suddenly the people decided to take a look at this problems as if they never had heard anything about. On the other side are existing also lots of completly wrong informations.

    What a nonsense.

 Anticatholicism seems to be as unhealable as pedophilia. What do you think what a catholic man is doing with a child molestor?

If you are not looking for evidence you are not going to find any. So as I know of, it's basically the media that has talked to some of the victims. The Catholic Church is part of the sexual slavery that is going on.

But they won't use RICO on the Church but you can bet they are going to use in on organizations that are upstanding. The corrupt system despises those who are unlike itself.

That's what happens when those who are responsible for going after criminals looks the other way when Roman Catholic priest commits sex crime.

You need to be more informed. Government agents have gone after one woman for having a garden in her front yard. They have gone after farmers selling raw milk, and so on.

If you call those that are against what some of the priest are doing to children anti-Catholic, then I guess when one is against corruption in the government or police brutality, then that person is antigovernment or antipolice.

Are you telling me that not a single law enforcement agency has been looking for evidence? Evidence from alleged assaults that took place decades ago? Why do you think most have been settled out of court?

So, if I give an interview and claim that you sexually assaulted me, lured me out after an online chat, and there was no Chris Hansen to interrupt the yoru violenet sexual predation ... well, best use RICO to throw your butt in jail!

Again, the courts do not convict without evidence.

The vast majority of these cases are not the result of criminal investigation but lawsuits ... lawsuits are generally not settled with jail time.

Let me say it in this way: The problemes of catholics are not your problems. So why do you care in such an emotional way? I doubt about your nOble self-constructed way of thoughts.

    Please

Hello! Wake up! I'm not an American - I'm a German: Do you know what "Gestapo" or "Stasi" means? No one is able to send agents into the catholic church if he likes to have any result in a shorter time than hundredandfifteen years.

Why for heavens sake do you try to make yourselve to a fool in my eyes?

We are not talking about simply being lured out via an online chat. We are talking about the sexual abuse of children in the care of priest. Children whose minds are innocent and put there trust in these adults.

There is a good reason why children are used for sex abuse or even as sex slaves. After a while it becomes normal for those children.....they accept it. Children don't know how articulate the way an adult would, and are not as expressive about what happened to them. And by the time that child grows up much of the details of the incident has faded some......so little if any evidence at all remains. And the out of court settlement is just to shut them up.

ItÂ’s no wonder the world is the way it is with that kind of thinking. Most people don't generally care about what is happening to others until it starts to happen to them.......then they want people to care about them and what they are going through.

The sex abuse by Catholic priest happens in the U.S as well. In fact around the world, wherever is a Catholic Church.

    Bull(*)(*)(*)(*).

Up to 10% of our student in highschool, as I listed earlier, are subjected to unwanted pressure and sexual misconduct in our highschools.

And yet, you focus on the Catholic church?

You ignore prostitition - which proveable drives sexual slavery.

You ignore human trafficking, which victimizes millions of girls who are controlled through drugs and physical force and tolerated pratically in open sight.

You ignore the poverty and fraud that finds the victims and takes advantage of an often desperate search for a better life.

But you will exaggerate the import of the Catholic church, and that is no small thing, in order to make the Catholic Church the center piece of beating back sexual slavery?

You are simply mistaken and dealing in emotional accusations.

The Catholic Church deserves to be punished for its actions, and it has. For some people, that will never be enough. Always been that way, and always will be.

The simple fact of the matter is that the vast majority of priests have no need of punishment, they are innocent, and yet still you clamor for them to be punished?

Demanding that the innocent be punished with the guilty has no bearing whatsoever on sexual slavery, nor does castigated innocent men and women as sexual perverts and malcontents.

    Lastly a lesson.

I have seen many posters on this forum denounce me, and others, for holding them to task when they make egregious claims - as if the very task of holding someone accountable to a standard somehow violates the tenets of our faith and violates the principle of Love.

Well, take a good hard look at the Catholic Church and the situation it finds itself in. Tell me, did it in any way help the Catholic Church to prevent the meaning of the judgement phrases in the Bible to be without judgement? In the face of child molestation? Do we see the reward that such slack non-judgementalism brings?

The lesson here is one of standards and the need to hold people accountable to those standards. All of us will fall short of the example of Christ, but there are some actions that require swift and immediate punishment - for forgivess is a great gift, not a right bestowed to those who would abuse it. It takes genuine repentence and humbleness.

The error of the church was in thinking that merely transferring a problem solved a problem - when in reality it merely transplanted a problem. That lesson goes for child molestation, just as it does for simple malcontent.

A lack of accountability is not love, it is death.

By whom? Other students or teachers or both? And is it consensual? But there is a difference between a ten year old for example than a sixteen year old. And when a teacher is found to have sex with one of their students they lose their job in all the cases that I have read.....they are not transferred to another school as it is done in the Catholic Church.

Because it seem the system turns a blind eye to it.

Nope...I said that even that the Church is involved in......it is a part of it.

Poverty don't just happens.....it is created. The west has its hands in the creation of poverty in much of the world. They prop up and support many dictators around the world for their own agenda. And as a result people in those Country have little to no control over the natural resources of their own Country, because U.S has interest in controlling the resource(s).

I am talking about decades at least of sexual abuse by priest......that's a lot of people who were abused. So I would not call that an exaggeration.

    I am calm.

And how has the Church been punished?

I don't know that......that's what you say and that Church would say. But I have no way of verifying that is true.

No, just the ones that are involved and those that know what they did and are protecting them.

Are you asking any of these question about the victims of the Catholic Church? And even though no where near 10% of a billion Catholics were exposed to the exact same behavior they encounter in high school ... you continue to insist that the Church be disbanded to save people from the scurge of sexual abuse?

The innocent do not deserve to punished with the guilty. Fact, not witch hunts, determine who is guilty and DESERVING of punishment. A billion people who had no knowledge and did not partake in the crimes do not deserve punishment.

It really is that simple. Either that, or you reject the idea of American jurisprudence, of innocence until PROVEN guilt.

They did, and have paid over a billion dollars for their neglect.

When will we extract that amount from human traffickers? From hidden brothel owners and their johns?

Right. We need more from the Catholic Church.

No, certain poor leaders were. The 'Church' consists of the people and ALL of the leaders of the church. Most had no idea.

the innocent do not deserve to be punished with the guilty.

The things that lead to an end to poverty begins with sound governance, strong judicial systems that enforce equitable, acceptable laws for the masses, the protection of property rights, strong educational system, and the stablishment of systems where merit is recognized and rewarded.

It is no secret, and the West is not an aggressor for having figured this out. So did Japan and China.

As opposed to the millions of girls caught in bondage rigth now? Being raped as we speak by some knowing or unkowing john?

Oh, if you think the Catholic Church is central to reducing the incidence of sexual slavery, you are exaggerating by many orders of magnitude.

Again, MOST CATHOLICS had no idea that this was taking place. And when they found out - they were horrified. They demanded accountability for their church - and they got it, along with repeatedly apologies and policy changes from the Papacy.

    Now, about those human traffickers.

Why do you keep asking the same question if you are not willing to read or acknowledge the answer?

then you are interested in neither truth nor research, merely castigation.

Then let the system of justice as established in this country work. Let evidence and not passion rule the day.

I am not talking about the lay people that attend that Church. I am talking about the priest that are committing the act, and those in it that allow them and protect them. The whole system is corrupt as I said before several post back ,and it one of the reasons why the Catholic Church continue to do what they do.

In my words "your 'knowledge' about the catholic church is less than nothing" - everyone who knows nothing would be a better teacher than you.

Most people don't like to patronize or infantilize or criminalize or ... other people. And most people dont show their tears in public - okay - maybe that's different in the USA.

If you like to know what someone else is thinking then there's a very easy way to find this out: ask! Ask somene first before you are thinking s/he's thinking in your way because you are not able to imagine that people are thinking often in different ways. There's always something common and there's never everything common.

Because the USA is comparable with Germany I would assume 500 thousand to 1 million cases of child abuse/misuse in the USA every year. In Germany for example a bishop of the catholic church was fired because he himselve said that he had beaten some boys in an orphan asylum about 30-40 years ago. No one else ever saw him that he did so. Everything else what was said against him was definetelly wrong and in those times he did what nearly every man did - with some very seldom exceptions. In this time everyone - also women - had used corporal punishment in education and after world war 2 we had gigantic problems with legions of orphans and the catholic church was one of the institutions who cared - while others cared nothing at all. It was a time of big desasters with a great mental overload and exhaustion of lots of people as a result of World War 2. I'm really very angry that this people who were often like heroes of humanity are today seen like criminals because blind political agitators are producing waves of anticatholic propaganda without any idea what they are doing on what reasons.

Tell me something about a concrete case of child abuse (only one!) in the USA where a priest of the catholic church was envolved. Names, situations, facts! I will try to find out what really had happened in this case.

    Lol. Are you a Catholic?

Which is completely different than what I am saying. Most are basically concern about their own interest and the pursuit of materialism and entertainment.

One knows what occupies a person's mind based on what they talk about, and in most people's mind is the self and pleasing the senses.

I guess beating a child is considered worse than sexually abusing them.

    Yes

Thousands of people of his diocese left the catholic church because they saw in him a criminal child abuser, an untrustworthy person and a brutal rowdy.

Why do you send me this link to Wikipedia?

Sorry - I misundertodd that you said "I guess beating a child is considered worse than sexually abusing them." - so I was answering wrong. Another question: Why do you write in a political forum under the subject "religion"? What is your motivation to do so?
