Why do I write in a political forum under the subject of religion? You need to elaborate......what do you mean?

Forget it - I don't think there is a way for me to understand you.

Und i kann mi no erinnern,
es war zeitlich in der Fruah
Wie da Mond no blass am Himmel g'standn is

I bin leise aus der Tür g'schlupft
I woar no a klana Bua
Große Dinge wollt i tua, des woar ma g'wiß

hob i mir a Hittn baut

A poar Heidelbeern eineg'steckt in Mund

I woar frei und ungebunden, kana hot zu mir was g'sogt
I hob g'spürt, die ganze Gegend hod mi gern,

Und i kann mi no erinnern,
    wanns dann Abend wurn is
Bin i ham do hot die Omama scho g'wort

    der woar a Traum

---I am not an atheist. You're conclusions about me have no support. In some other thread I was accused of being a creationist for stating that science is in no position to make statements about the existence of a god, or God. Now I am here being labeled an atheist. Is it the policy here in the Religion section to draw unsupported conclusions and to foist circumscribing labels on others?

Prosecuting the Catholic church as a organized crime group? Meh.

    Seems like a stretch.

Oh, your arguementation most certainly is.

Why is it that people who take such offense to the labels attached to them never identify what they are to clarify?

Let me remind you of the opposite. The last guy that pulled this was a guy who had left a church an refused to give his denomination - turns out he is an agnostic with strong atheist leanings - when he finally admitted it. In fact, most of the posters I have seen take umbrage with being called something, and then not clarifying, are agnostics ... who lean atheist - and make strong atheist arguements.

Actions do help classify, and are, in many cases quite a bit more honest that what people call themselves.

What you write has no bearing on any of the arguementation that was written about an oath of celebacy causing sexual assault.

---What you write has no bearing on the argumentation that was written about the psychological effects of sexual repression. In fact, you have cursed at me, denigrated me by invoking the ignorance of a child to inform of how much you value my opinion, you have accused me of having no control over my libido and have labeled me as something you apparently dislike.

Like I said, your opinion is noted, you are not an expert.

Having talked to a few preists, what they worry about is not sex, its family. Indeed, most priests have little trouble keeping their vows. Honorable men do not give their oaths easily.

And yes, it is relevant, because guess who makes these kind of claims? Atheists! Guess why they make them? To denegrate priests and their religion.

The very fact that you think being called an atheist, for making an atheist arguement is offensive, is silly. I give a rats butt what you are, but when yo make an arguement launched from a group with a agenda on this issue, then you should be prepared to answer for the agenda that created it.

This stems precisely from the atheist camp that views an oath of chastity not as something of honor and sacrifice, but as a form of torture. It comes with the atheist ethos that denying sex is a punishment, cruel and inhamune and thrust upon people involuntarily - even though preists do so of their own free will.

And like them, and that whole line of reasoning, you too appear to making the exact same claim and supporting by playing victim for being called at atheist? Like it is some kind of insult to be referred to as a atheist and then repeatedly refusing to spell our what you are?

By all means clarify yoru belief position, but don;t get pissy when you make arguement from the atheist camp, support it with the same emotionalism that they do, and then wonder why people think you are an atheist.

If I were making pornoraphic video everyday and referring to myself as a stout Christians ... you might have doubts, and I seriousy doubt that anyone would be impressed when I got emotional and derisive, and then demanded you respect my Christianity .... right after I finish this shot anyway.

    Actions vs. words.

    Depends.

We've already seen that the cover ups of child abuse go fairly high into the power structure of the catholic church.

It would be a daunting task no doubt.

I believe that a thorough investigation needs to be undertaken, for sure. But I really doubt anyone or anyone government would have the grit to do it.

The catholic church in Germany is doing in the moment such an investigation. In some years we will know more about the real dimensions and about the real causes in Germany. But I don't think this situation will be comparable with the USA because sexuality is in the english speaking world a theme with much more taboos.

Child abuse does not become more or less of a crime because of cultural differences in sexual prudence.

---Yes. Let's look at the actions. I said sexual repression is a cause of pathological behavior. That is neither subjective nor allusive toward anything resembling an attack on Catholicism. You then attack me, curse at me, deride my opinion and when I point those things out attempt to twist my words into somehow playing a victim. Is this the way in which Christianity is championed?

And what does that have to with a non-pathological person taking a vow of chastity? Or do you think most preiets have patholgical tendancies?

And yes, that does indicate Anti-Catholic tendancies. Or do we live in a world where the Catholic Church is not regularly targetted by atheists?

---If I say husbands are more likely to have a one night stand for feelings of lack of adventure, whereas wives are more likely to have an affair for feelings of lack of intimacy, is that tantamount to an attack on the institution of marriage? Never mind the prevailing opinions. I have not foisted the sometimes radical beliefs of religious people onto you. Show me the same respect.

You could probably back up said claim abour marriage with a poll from those who have cheatd that describe the reasons, or a study that provides some basis which we BOTH known exist.

The ONLY body on which an oath of celebacy causes pathology or sexual assaults comes from atheists, it has no sceintific basis and is NOT from the community that takes the oath and can provide insight or from study of those who take the oath.

It comes from a body of people who intense dislike what preists are and what they stand for and should be treated with the appropriate logical and reasoned caution as a result.

Again, other than your 'authoritative' position on oaths of celebacy and its effects, what do you have to back up your claims about the oath of celebacy that is a stark odds with those who ACTUALLY engage in celebacy?

    Don't call me an atheist?

And once again, has nothing to do with a voluntary oath of celebacy leading inevitably and inexorably to rape.

Such accusations originate from the atheist community and Anti-Catholic groups whose goal is, quite literally, to undermine the church. There is no scientific validity to the claim - it gets made anyway.

I find that ... bothersome on many different levels.

If High level officials in the church took part in the protection of child molestors, they are, under RICO, an organized criminal organization. Anyone who took part in these relocations, and anyone who had knowledge of them and did not notify law enforcement should be arrested and tried for obstruction of justice, aiding and abbedding, and accomplacing the crimes themselves. Also, under RICO, anyone with prior knowledge can be arrested for any and all felonies that are charged to anyone in the organization.

Completly wrong. In West-Germany in the 198x politicians from the left political spectrum tried to fight for the right of children to have free sex with every adult and they reached an astonishing high level of common sense. Humanists made (and are doing so also today) very detailed laws to legalize the right of children to have sex with adults. The people who are doing so are thinking they are fighting for love and freedom.

You can read for example in a book of the very famous european politician Mr. Cohn-Bendit a very detailled description how he had sex with children. Today he argues something like "It was a lie - I only said so because I liked to sell this book and the story made it interesting" - while everyone knows that such a behavior was indeed seen nearly normal in those times in the middle of Europe. If Mr. Cohn Bendit would be a part of the catnclic church then the hell and the english speaking world would try to bomb the whole catholic church down like Monte Cassino.

Yes, there are people in the government that are a part of child pedophile and the selling of children, but they pretend as if they are against it.

I disagree, if it happened once it can happen again.

Priests should be allowed to get married. It's like prison, you go in straight as an arrow and you wind up, well..
