I think the point here is he needed to label the guy and the league as NEGRO.. I guess some folks just fully don't understand how racial verbiage works I would have used a date in which he played is all or found some other way to compliment without injecting race in to it.. The DNC just isn't very good at addressing PEOPLE with out a color description, I suppose it's habit due to addressing their voter base..

Now, had this been his only racial gaffe, it mighta been overlooked. On the other hand, you combine that with all the OTHER racial issues he's had over the centuries this fossil has been in politics (Post #227) - you have a fairly obvious pattern in racism not even a blind man could avoid seeing - unless said hypothetical person was TRYING to avoid seeing it.

^It was an Incredibly MINOR Slipup, and it is CLEAR what he meant.

Getting into a back-and-forth with someone (such as the person that you responded to) who has latched onto the Incredibly Misguided Notion (revolving around the incredibly misguided claim that "context doesn't matter") seems like an exercise in futility.

At this point, since they obviously won't come out of the hole that they have been digging for several pages, it has become the equivalent of "debating" someone who insists that "2+2=5".

I have never been a fan of wasting time racking up posts going back and forth "arguing" against someone who won't give up on an (obviously) Misguided Opinion (based on a Hideously Flawed Premise).

I already posted how he could have phrased it so that he wasn't talking about it the way he did but his words are his words and like I said, you have to assume facts not in evidence to make your assumption work. The grammar works out the way it works out. I know, I correct papers for a living!

I guess I could work with your explanation if we also accept it as a given that he's suffering from dementia - something I'd well accept. But in any event we are going about in circles here. We ain't a-gunna convince the other and at least we had a civil conversation about it.
