    So Biden violated the Obama signed law that prohibits the govt.from using the term.

    No wonder Obama didn't accept Bidens friendship bracelet.

    I came into this thread with the expectation that this was another one of Biden's gaffes where the Right thoroughly analyzes the audio claiming it sounded like he said something. Sort of like the audio gaffe of a few months ago when he stuttered and it sounded like he said the N word and the Right ran with it.

    This is cut and dry and to put it bluntly, absolutely disgusting.

    And to those who will attempt to explain this away, save it. I am a black man as many here know. There is no circumstance WHATSOEVER where it is appropriate to refer to me as "negro" in 2021. Me or ANY OTHER black American. This isn't the 60s where it using the term "negro" was considered the more "politically correct" way to refer to black people rather than the other N word folks wanted to actually use in the public eye.

    I don't want to hear the excuses of how he is from the generation where calling black folks negro was "acceptable". I don't want to hear he made a mistake. Knock it off.

    There is no excuse WHATSOEVER for the PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA in 2021 to refer to a black man as "negro" regardless of whether he is doing so in retrospect to a black man living during an era when that was "acceptable" in a racist segregated society.

    Shame on him, period. And shame on anyone who is attempting to justify or explain away this crap.

    Its bad. He specifically called him "Negro" even if he played in what was called the "Negro league" or whatever it was called.

    And this from the President of the United States, the literal top Democrat no less.

    My question is if this is seen as less offensive to older blacks, say Bidens age?

    I'd expect Biden being an old wealthy white guy does not help.

    I feel like Biden is an amalgamation of ALL of the worst traits of politicians.

    And as you no doubt know, its Veterans day...how did he think this was something to bring up at Arlington?

    I can't speak for everyone obviously but this was one of those rare cases that actually irked me in real life. My father called me tonight as he tends to do a couple times a week and I mentioned this to him. His initial response was "what did he actually say, I know how the news can be". So I sent him the link via text and explained to him how to navigate it (he is just figuring out how to use a smartphone having just gotten one this year). He watches the video and his response was, in quote, "What the ****?! You have got to be ****ing kidding me, is this one of those internet fake video things son don't play with me."

    This is a die hard Biden supporter and Democrat voter as are most black folks, especially older ones. He was born and raised during Jim Crow. His reaction may not be indicative of how others will react but I know him quite well seeing how he's my Dad...He still believes CNN is an honest news organization from the 80s and 90s and believes Republicans are the devil because he was trained to believe that since the day he was born. He is a proud Biden supporter....

    He was pissed. Take that for what you will.

    Damn that matter of context.

    You DO NOT call us "negro's" in the year 2021, I don't give a damn who you are or what time period you grew up in. Don't tell me I need to "get it" as a "matter of context" when the white President of the United States refers to one of my fellow black Americans as a "negro".

    Calling us negroes is OFFENSIVE, period.

    Get it?

    I entirely appreciate what you say.

    I've told my parents political things and both mom and dad avoided a confrontation with me by dropping the subject entirely.

    Probably wise but I threw little thought grenades at them when I could.

    The way they adopted technology was both amusing and concerning for me.

    They'd loudly brag about the internet, yet when the possibility of more than 2 or 3 sources of news (ABC, NBC, cbs) I think it scared them a bit.

    As an aside, happy veterans day bro.

    Biden was speaking at Arlington when this silliness emerged.

    They can refer to themselves how they like but whites arent allowed to refer to them in such a manner. Not my opinion, just the way it is. I am surprised Joe doesn't know that but he does not seem to know half of what is going on or what is exiting his mouth.

    That's why there's such a move for reparations right now among progressives...From the Floyd riots (oh no, the Floyd riots weren't insurrections:roflol:) to CRT to 450K for immigrants disaffected from their families because of Remain in Mexico, for examples.
    Don't you know that in the minds of progressives being racist towards whites is a 'reparation' for whites being racist and doesn't count as racism??:roflol:
