Manchin isn't going to seek re-election.
Could this be an alternative to Biden for Democrats? I would prefer him over Biden. And he was governor before, so he has great experience dealing with legislature.
If he ran as a third party candidate, it would split the vote, but hard to tell how much of each party.
Or, maybe he just retires to a mountain in WV.
    Thoughts?

I hope he does run for president so we don’t have to deal with Biden or the orange lard ****.

    Manchin is 76.

I expect the next Democratic nominee to be from a different generation.

He's another silver spoon brat with no clue about how regular Americans live. He's never had to worry about paying for housing or food, or anything else. I'm sick of rich people buying political offices.

    I don't trust him.

That will depend on who the Republicans and Democrats nominate. For the Democrats, they would need to nominate a moderate or somewhat conservative Democrat to retain the seat.

I also think Manchin will run for governor of West Virginia when Jim Justice's term ends.

Good for them. There should be greater than normal reward for serving in what is one of the most pressure-laden, difficult, and important jobs on the planet.

This was expected. Manchin wasn't doing so well in the polls either. I don't think he has enough support to run on his own for POTUS.

Why that response? It takes years of school and hard work to get that far. Don't you think there should be merit-based rewards for going by beyond what most would achieve? I thought everyone approved of a meritocracy. The official POTUS pay is far less than than that of most corporate officers. I don't resent them for speaking fees, book deals, or a few real estate or stock deals. Why should I?

With these people say you're trying to convince them that you have the King of hearts you can't just show it to them you can't just suggest it you have to grab their face pry their eyes open and shove the card right in the eyeball even then they'll still deny it but at least you did everything you could.

They're like saints fans. Win or lose the fans are still going to think that the saints are the best team there is

Again I'm going to ask what do you think the money that they mysteriously aren't comes from?

The president gets 400k a year if they serve 8 years that's 3.2 million. Where did the other $116,800,000 come from?

Book deals, speaking fees, real estate deals, maybe some smart stock trades. Times two in the case of the Clintons and the Obamas, since both women are pretty smart.

Unless they are becoming billionaires, I really don't give a hoot. They're simply taking full advantage of a particular type of celebrity.
