John McCain, war hero and maverick Republican, dead at age 81

    John Sidney McCain III, the maverick Republican who twice sought the presidency and served in the Senate for more than three decades after surviving brutal captivity during the Vietnam War, died Saturday after battling brain cancer. He was 81.

    “Senator John Sidney McCain III died at 4:28pm on August 25, 2018. With the Senator when he passed were his wife Cindy and their family. At his death, he had served the United States of America faithfully for sixty years,” the family said in a statement.

    RIP war hero and the American patriot. Agreed with you always or not, we’re all proud of what you did for our country.

    Now, let’s speedily pick his Republican replacement, who’ll vote aye for president’s SCOTUS nominee.

    He specified that trump is not invited to his funeral. He does want Obama and Bush to speak at his funeral.

    I hated that he brought Palin into the mix. And he said a few things that were underhanded. But I feel a personal loss. He was a great American.

    Trump didn't say anything about McCain stopping treatment, but I'm sure someone on his staff will convince him to say something.

    If you want to bet, let's see if Cindy refuses to let any of Trump's staff attend the funeral or, if Trump does say something that Cindy or Meghan will have a recording of McCain telling Trump to go **** himself.
