Judge Cannon rejects a bid by Trump to dismiss criminal charges in classified documents case

A federal judge will not dismiss the classified documents charges against former President Donald Trump, who argued that he had the authority to take classified or sensitive documents with him after he left the White House.

The short order from US District Judge Aileen Cannon on Thursday leaves open the possibility that Trump could still use the argument to defend himself at trial.
So the trial will proceed at this time.

This is extremely worrisome. It looks like she keeps dismissing these kinds of things without prejudice, inviting Trump to challenge it again after the jury has been selected and jeopardy attaches so that she can dismiss it later and then Smith can't appeal. But Smith looks like he's onto her schemes.

 

Can someone please explain how the PRA protects Trump when the core of the law is that those records belong to the country, and NOT the president himself ?

Remove her from this case and refer her to the federal office of Administrative Overisght for removal from the bench.

The PRA is civil and highly unlikely related to Government Classified Documents, many SKIF level, (not personal records/notes/tapes of a POTUS leaving office) many relating to American national and international security. Except that her running out the clock has pushed off the trial. American voters will not be shown any evidence/proof of wrong doing before the election. I can't imagine anyone who wanted Trump's trials to be put off unless they fully understand that he has much to hide. Trump certainly doesn't want the trials to happen. Very odd. If he is innocent of all, and its a witch hunt, why doesn't he want us all to know his truth?
