I think you know the answer to that question, don't you ??
IF he was innocent........he would not need to keep playing the delay game . The election is everything to him in more ways than just regaining power. He sees it (if he wins) as his lifeline.... to absolve himself of all past legal issues. What complicates the situation is that his followers believe his lies, and don't think he has done anything wrong. Sociopaths are extremely manipulative and convincing about thier "victimhood" and gaining sympathy from those that buy into their fiction.

Trump supporters believe that he did no wrong. That he is being "persecuted", so they interpret the law accordingly.

Well, I mostly post my comments directed to the following. I want to understand their thoughts on it. But they rarely hold water...just a lot of Trump as victim statements. No one will answer WHY Trump doesn't want a speedy trial!

And.... in a trial , many other things would be revealed that would be detrimental to him.

At this point virtually no one still trusts the justice system in the US to even provide some semblance of due process let alone justice.

“Conservative estimates by the Innocence Project suggest that at least 1% of the people in U.S. prisons are wrongfully convicted. That is 20,000 people.

Six times more Black men than white men are incarcerated in this country.[1]

ABC News reported last year that in 2018, in 800 jurisdictions in this country, "Black people were arrested at a rate five times higher than white people." And, "n 250 jurisdictions, Black people were 10 times more likely to be arrested than their white counterparts" in that same year.[2]
A recent study found that 54% of wrongful convictions that later led to exonerations involved official misconduct — the police, prosecutors or both breaking the rules to get a conviction.[3] This same study found that police and prosecutors are rarely disciplined for this misconduct.

Thousands of innocent people sitting in jail for collectively hundreds of thousands of years, and rarely is anyone held accountable — this is not justice.

Trump , in case you haven't noticed, isn't black. Why won't he stand trial and "clear this up" ?

Yet conservatives still support the death penalty and even want to expand it! Even trump wants to execute drug dealers!

I'm sure that many of them would gleefully attend his public execution if it were left up to them.

Yes, many of them will Back the Blue even if it kills them.

That is why so many black and Latino Americans are now supporting Trump.
They know all about kangaroo justice and they don't support it -- not even for Trump.

Which is not to say that 'Back the Blue' 'tough justice' DJT does not have it coming. Ah, so you're saying Trump needs to stand trial but not in a "kangaroo" court ? So , by extension, every court that has tried or will try him is "kangaroo justice" ?

Which courts in this country do not represent "kangaroo justice" ? And would be a fit place to try him ?

The case should have been dismissed with prejudice early on.

Which is not to say that have much sympathy for DJT.
After all, DJT has not called for an investigation of all convictions in the US with and eye to discovering prosecutorial misconduct and denial of due process.

Sorry Fatback. That is a tad presumptuous. Don't think anyone wants that kind of barbarism to take place in this country. What many of us want is full accountability via the justice system. The same system that has served him well in the multitude of lawsuits he has used against others . Just as important , we want civility , good sense, to prevail. He is not being persecuted, he is being prosecuted for actions deemed illegal. He is trying to manipulate the system to favor himself. This is just another series of cons from a master con man. Trump supporters have a very different view of him and his actions. To them, they are acceptable. That is their choice. A lot of us still value integrity , honor, honesty, and ethical standards. We also realize that those qualities don't carry the same weight as they used to in the changing societal culture. Jan 6 demonstrated what barbarism looks like. ( and that was done by TRUMP SUPPORTERS)
