We did not have a Memorial day until 1971 and for some reason I thought the federal holiday was earlier than that.

 

Well, why stop there? Lets set right every wrong till the dawn of man...

Cops as a rule are not called out on the nice people. It is the worst of society that deals with cops. I do not feel sorry for the worst society offers those in cities. Their victims I do feel sorry for. They could fix that by electing republicans to run those cities.

 

When I was born, blacks did not want to speak of Africa. I wonder why the word African has to be in their writing? Are they proud of Africa? Africa had the slaves and sold slaves.

 

Everyone is entitled to inheritance.

Reparations are based on the fact that descendants of those enslaved or enserfed would have inherited property from their ancestors.

 

I believe if you investigate, that actually did happen.

 

Not in America. In America, Reparations have not been paid.

 

Reparations for what? We can't reparate the dead.
You should study history. And learn what blacks got after the Civil War.

 

For the property the living would have inherited had there been no discrimination.

 

I do not understand. Who have you previously persuaded? Take my own grandfather for example. He owned 640 acres in Oklahoma during the Dust Bowl. He had to move to CA where he got hired as a carpenter. What am I owed for his lost 640 acres?

 

Thank you, CCitizen. They pretend they don't understand that the slave's labor was stolen from them for two hundred years. That is wealth that should have went to their descendants. But, instead it went to the slavemasters.

My own great-grandparents fought in Russian Civil War in order to make Reparations a reality.

In Russia and East Europe, peasants and workers were the majority, thus former nobles lost almost all property and many rights.

As a Jew I am proud of Leon Trotsky -- he represents the best aspects of Socialism. The wealth which was produced by the work of serfs went back to descendants of serfs. Hopefully, African Americans will also get Reparations.

 

Who fed the slaves? Who built homes for them to live in? Who trained them in farm work? And why don't you know that after the end of the Civil War reparations were paid to actual slaves.

 

I have met and been friends with Russian Jews.

I had in college a teacher of political science whose Russian family was murdered during the revolution who told us a lot about Russia. Leon Was murdered by Soviets. So when my teachers wealthy family was murdered by the Soviets, he ought to have gotten reparations? I no doubt know he is dead now. He was elderly when I was in college. I wonder if his family got reparations?

 

Sadly Stalin took over and first exiled (1929) then murdered (1940) Leon Trotsky.

Leon Trotsky set a precedent for Reparations -- in 1918 and 1920, former nobles lost almost all their property. Some escaped to the West. That was a great boost and help for working people.

In late 1940s, descendants of East European serfs also got the property of former nobles.

Hopefully, African Americans will also get Reparations.

 

I recall how wealthy my college teacher had been as a citizen of Russia. When he and a servant got back home from a day out hunting, he found his family and everybody on the property all murdered. I would of course hope he had managed to get those reparations you brag about.

I do not recall my teacher claiming his family were nobles. But they owned a very large estate with a mansion.
Trotsky was murdered. He was no longer of any help.

So you are telling me that blacks are proud of Africa for capturing them and enslaving them?

 

Thus his ancestors owned thousands of serfs. Most nobles were not killed -- they just lost almost all property.
