Jussie Smollett's bid to get charges thrown out rejected by Illinois Supreme Court

It’s to the point now where any alleged hate crime is met with rolling eyes.

I don't know why he thinks the public and the courts will look upon him symphaticially because he is a gay actor.

 

A gay BLACK actor, and his quest for sympathy worked very well in the beginning. Even though his story was implausible, he had defenders in the media and congress. This board had several defenders including an extremely staunch one. Between the combination of him being black, gay and a Trump hater, the left so desperately wanted to believe his story. Had he not received the attention that he did, it's possible the police would not have put so much effort into digging up the truth and stuffed this in their cold case files. Had that happened, Smollett would have walked away and for the rest of his live he would always be the victim where the crooks simply got away. The left's sensationalism of this story along with their belief they could make it reflect negatively on Trump ultimately took Smollett down.

In Cook county nobody notices your skin color unless you are white.
A few years ago I was looking for jobs and applied for a few with Cook County. I was always getting some response from all employers I applied to, except for the county. They were also the only ones who required submission of ethnic information along with the application and the resume.
I guess I wasn’t dark enough.

Because of Jail Overcrowding in Cook County, I would be surprised if he did any time (barring the possibility of a, "slap on the wrist" (maybe a few dew days, etc.)).

But, definitely Probation, Fine, and Full Restitution for the cost of the Investigation.

I really don't foresee any sympathy for worrying about an "Attack on Trump's Reputation".

How can one "harm" "Trump's Reputation"?

It is not a matter of an attack on the reputation of Donald Trump, but rather an attack on the president of the united states directly. In presenting the fictitious tale of being subjected to a fake hate crime, Jussie Smollett deliberately went out of his way to claim that supporters of Donald Trump were responsible for the attack.

 

It was an attack on Chicago as well to claim to "racists" attacked him and were so desperate for Gay Black blood they waited around late at night in below zero temps to attack him..

Possibly. Personally, I would like to hear him admit he was wrong, and he made the entire event up and that he is sorry. BUT...I do not believe that will ever happen. I wonder if the FBI is done with their investigation into possible mail fraud charges?
