Jussie Smollett's bid to get charges thrown out rejected by Illinois Supreme Court

One step closer to having to answer for your hoax, Jussie. The defense should probably start considering seeking a deal involving turning witness against DA Kim Foxx because Smollett isn't the only one that needs to be investigated.

 

I think false flag attacks should be severely prosecuted.
Just like hate crime aggravates any criminal charge, staged false flag attacks should bear the same consequence as they cause as much damage to race relations as any hate crime.
I think 10 years with general prison population would be the proper sentence for Smollett.

Now for the burning question. How is Empire doing without Smollet? The first episodes after Smollet were dry. There was an uncomfortable void that made the episodes unsatisfying. Smollet was the best male vocalist on the show. He took to the stage frequently and anticipating his performance had been a highlight of every show.

V Bozeman earned best female vocalist and made audiences tune in for more after her mesmerizing opening scene rehearsal of "'What IS love?" in the production studio during Empire's epic debut. Records were shattered as word about the night time soap opera/musical spread and audiences grew week by week. But I digress.

Empire's final season continued after its typical months long break this week and I was stunned that this time, Smollet's abscence wasn't felt. The writer's are top notch and the plot twists were so suspenseful, the other characters so engaging that somehow we managed not to miss a main character who was not only integral to the storyline but the heart of the show. That's quite a feat.

Although the ratings are probably down and this is the final season, I look forward to watching every week. I can tell that the episodes are going to be stellar and there has already been talk of a spin-off. Great! I hope that Smollet learns from this experience.

The most hilarious aspect of Smollet's race hoax was the notion that two racist crackers would recognize a gay black actor on a show that no racist cracker would watch in a million years.
