I imagine Russia's Black Sea flotilla wouldn't last more than about 3 days from the start of a NATO conflict. In fact, I'm sure I'm being very generous, but I figure they might need a day or two to assemble the desired strike capabilities.

I suspect a combined air strike from carriers like USS Gerald R Ford, Abe Lincoln, or Ronald Reagan would destroy 90% of BSF in 12 hrs or less....launched from the Mediterranean or Adriatic that is....just saying.

What happens to these deserters once hostilities cease...do they remain in those countries where they fled to.....taking advantage of the social services....cooped up in some enclave....only to stir up $hit later?

I have to agree with you on paper and when looking at the current naval positions and ships available but I would be curious as to your opinion on this and Durandal's and all the regular Uke forum participants-do they see Russia being able to continue to drag this out.

I do. I think they can drag this out as long as Putin is not dead in a sort of stalemate on the ground-a real war of attrition so to speak. I also think Putin's cutting off the food and China's latest military moves as well as India offering Russia missiles are part of these unintended side shows hard to predict.

Ukraine seems to have at the cost of its country being devastated been able to cripple Russia's military. No one thought that possible. Ukraine has been the NATO proxy to keep Russia disabled. For that surely NATO owes them after this war membership and the EEC and West owe them financial assistance to rebuild and I strongly argue China, Iran should suffer direct sanctions for their roles and I strongly criticize India's exploitation of the war and siding with Russia for their own needs.

India's support of Russia like China's should be strongly condemned by the UN.

 

I don't see India officially offering the BrahMos to Russia. I see the CEO of the company trying to hype it up, but nothing from the government about it.

 

And of course the UN should praise the US for the 2014 Coup in ukraine and the arming/training/build up of ukraine neo nazi nationalist state. Oh yeah, definitely.

 

Russia would probably look to freeze this conflict....lick it's deep wounds, reorganize,reassess, re arm, restart.

Russian occupation authorities claimed to have reduced traffic at Crimea-Kherson Oblast checkpoints near Chonhar and Armiansk following significant traffic jams in the morning. Russian occupation authorities also advertised alternate routes and rest stops along them for tourists to drive from occupied Crimea through occupied Zaporizhia and Donetsk oblasts – rear areas in a war zone – to return to Russia. Russian authorities also announced additional measures to mitigate resulting traffic jams and logistics issues, including a temporary road bridge next to the Kerch Strait Bridge, the reconstruction of a 60-kilometer stretch of road between Crimea and Kherson Oblast through Armiansk, and lowering security measures at the Kerch Strait Bridge checkpoints.
