No. They are worried that putting a dim bulb on SCOTUS will lead to ridiculous outcomes based on "feel" rather than the constitution. Remember the judge on the Flynn trial. Totally went off the reservation just for the hell of it.
The law has enough trouble as it is, don't put an affirmative action in their simple because she is:
A: Not male
B: Not white
How will she rule on discrimination cases? Require a "unicorn" as in a white affirmative action defendant?

 

I think the Senators should ask questions that relate specifically to law and what the court does. I have seen a lot of questions and assertations made that have little to do with the job or her personal values and questions like why certain books are in school libraries, or does she know what a woman is or does she agree that liberals hated a certain Judge from South Carolina. This reflects more on the questioner than the candidate.

It’s a simple question to find out if the obvious is actually obvious to this nominee.

This woman has a grandmother who is a woman, a mother who is a woman, is a woman herself and gave birth to two women. Yet with all that along with settled science and eons of the entire planet knowing what a woman is, this nominee needs to hear a legal argument in order to learn what a woman is.

What’s next? Does she know what a black person is? Wait, let me get specific, does she know what an African negro is? Or does she need a legal argument to figure that out?

The question "Can you provide a definition for the word woman?" I agree the answer (due to today's lunacy) might be subject to a lot of confusion- but I don't want a confused person on the supreme court, nor one who dodges fundamental basics like that.
