"He has balls"....Bilhorod has been hit this afternoon by drones and RDK/FRL.....something like 15 dead, over 40 injured, many of those critical?

If Putinka had "balls" he'd do something....a RuZzki SU dropped a FAB bomb "by accident" on Bilhorod....there were lots dead....although everything under wraps....:).

    Viskom....

Putin is effectively trapped. He cannot withdraw from Ukraine and survive. Putin, not Ukraine or NATO is the existential threat to Russia. The threat to use tactical nukes is a desperation move, as will be the eventual Putin's eventual order to launch theater nukes.

I'm thinking of artillery ammunition production in particular. That requires a foundry to melt and mold steel, among other things.

yeah......it's all hot air....errrmmmmm......no pun intended.....:D.....in order to make the use of nukes worthwhile you need troops and commanders trained, equipped and capable of exploiting the event with vehicles certified to operate in irradiated areas....but his mate Shoigu has made that pretty much a pipe dream.....so again the guy's just talking out his arse.....

but I remain ze master strategist..........and I Wladimir Sputin......I vill ruuuuule za vorld!!!!!

    That will be a challenge.

Albert Speer was able to create factories to manufacture weapons systems during massive air bombardment.
May have to dig deeper holes, or find new ways to conceal and disperse production.

FWIW, smelters are getting smaller all the time.

Would not be too surprised if thousands of Ukrainians start producing functional steel shells with hundred dollar DIY "foundry smelting furnaces" from Amazon. ;-)

Note that I only speculate that Putin will eventually give the "order to launch".
Putin will have nothing to lose by that time, but I doubt that the rest of the ruling political class will think that harakiri is their only option.

General Lapin's kid was killed by HIMARS strike on May 3 in Donetsk region I'm hearing. He was 35 or something...

Lapin was that General that high tailed it outta that Lyman area back in Fall 2022?

    Anyway....if I find a link....and if true....Good!

Yeah....Putler is basically heavily bogged down in Ukraine ....$$700 mln spent daily ...and troop deaths anywhere from 1000-1500 daily.

"Things start to look interesting"...after 2024??

Yeah...it's a case of keeping the conflict "over there".....or it spills over into neighboring NATO states.

I'll go out on a limb here...but the stage is getting set for the involvement of NATO on the ground in Ukraine....

By now even Stalin would have purged his military high command and his intelligence chiefs and ordered a withdrawal before all the bridges in and out of Russia are deconstructed.

Stalin , yes, probably would've shot those responsible. Putler isn't Stalin(as much as like to think he is), and has an inept Shoigu.

I'm still thinking something cataclysmic is in the cards....where NATO gets directly involved.

Yes, that is Fake News. There is linked story, but I can't read the language. Turkey is part of NATO -- odd for them to apply that headline.

Unless the Turks think Hakeem Jeffries is POTUS, and that "did not rule out" means "send". From the article:

"The leader of the Democrats in the US House of Representatives, Hakeem Jeffries, did not rule out that the US would have to send troops to the Ukrainian conflict zone if Kiev is defeated. ‘We can’t let Ukraine fall, because if that happens, there is a significant possibility that America will have to get involved in the conflict, not just with our money, but with our troops,’ Jeffries said."

I think so....I mean I'm hoping the Russians don't get Chasiv Yar any time soon (which would be a real kick in the nuts if they did) but assuming they don't and Ukraine can stabilise their lines, then once the Russian summer offensives have culminated by....say end of September...and assuming Ukraine has the trained manpower.....yeah...2025 should be interesting....should see Ukraine on a much better footing and be able to start limited offensives against Russia.

.....can't see NATO troops being in Ukraine....to be honest.....what possible reason does NATO have to go there when Ukraine isn't a member? Certain countries that incidentally are members of NATO could if they chose to but again why? Think about it, Western countries are still reluctant to commit to any overwhelming military aid (everyone including the US still provide sanctuary to Russia!!) so why would they send troops? Also, NATO/Western troops are trained to fight in a certain way within a certain command structure and within a certain battlefield ecosystem which simply doesn't exist in Ukraine. I mean you could have medical/logistical maybe???

I'm curious what led you to this story. Was it something on Facebook or Twitter? There are a lot of... characters on there that share fake news.

Google search. Headline caught my eye, and I wanted to post a quick reply.
I was going to post links to other stories about Macron's statements regarding sending troops to stop a Russian breakthrough. That headline from a Turkish source confirmed my opinion that there is great risk of the war expanding soon. Pure confirmation bias error on my part.
Usually, even with Fake News the story will at least arguably support the headline, but not in this case. The headline is contradicted by the story. Not sure why a Turkish source would publish something so obviously wrong at this time. Even as propaganda it is very lame.

Should have caught it, but I wanted to reply with fast with a new link. I apologize for sharing such a flawed source especially when so many better ones were available.

06 May: Ukrainians DESTROY 314 TANKS & AFV IN THE RECENT BATTLE FOR NOVOMYKHAILIVKA | War in Ukraine

The Ukrainians are doing a fine job giving the invading naZis the same treatment that the German Nazis got in the USSR last century, i.e. wearing them down every step of the way and making them trade heaps of bodies and scrap metal for every small territorial gain.
