The Pootster making a stupid claim.
Russian Offensive Campaign Assessment, May 9, 2024
    May 9, 2024 - ISW Press
    [IMG]

Russian President Vladimir Putin used his May 9 Victory Day speech to relitigate his belief that the West is attempting to erase the Soviet Union's contributions to defeating Nazi Germany during the Great Patriotic War (Second World War), a grievance that is at the core of Russia's adversarial perceptions of the West. Putin claimed during the Victory Day parade, which is held to commemorate the Soviet Union's victory and sacrifices during the Second World War, that "they," referring to the West, are attempting to "distort" the truth about the Second World War and "demolish" the memory of Soviet heroism and sacrifice.

The West let Russians forget that a Russian tyrant started WWII with the Nazi/Soviet alliance -- the Hitler/Stalin Pact. It is time to restore Russia's "memory" of the Inconvenient Truth.

Meanwhile Europe is figuring out how to deal with Russian imperialism.

More snow on Russia's lame parade from the latest Canadian cold front.

“Canada's defense minister announced Friday Can$76 million (US$56 million) for Germany's ramp-up of air defense equipment procurements for Ukraine."This investment will help Ukraine defend itself against the brutal attacks that have destroyed hospitals, power plants and apartment blocks and have killed thousands of innocent Ukrainians," Canadian Defense Minister Bill Blair told a joint news conference with his visiting German counterpart, Boris Pistorious. Pistorious said Iris-T air defense systems would be delivered to Kyiv in the coming weeks, "because we don't have time to lose.””

The Ukrainians would have been happy to sell Russians all the beach time, sunburns, and bread they could consume for just a smidge of the treasure Putin has sunk into his jackass invasion.

Yep, and Russians had access to the beaches.
They could have had sunburns instead of bullets and shrapnel.

Adapting with iPads while waiting for F-16s.

“The strategy involves jet pilots luring enemy antiaircraft defenses into targeting them with their radars. The radar waves are then traced back to their source, and the Ukrainian pilots retaliate with weapons like the US-made AGM-88 High-speed Anti-Radiation Missiles (HARMs) before the Russians van lock onto them with surface-to-air missiles (SAMs).”

Adapting Western weapons for use in Ukraine

The difficulty of adapting HARM for Ukraine is due to the incompatibility of old Soviet-era jets, such as the MIG-29 and the Su-27 fighters, with modern Western technology. Last month, US Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment William LaPlante told reporters at a Washington DC conference that Ukraine had been using iPads in an attempt to make Ukrainian jets compatible with Western weapons. He described how Ukraine's aging fighter planes could now take many Western weapons and get them to work on their aircraft as they were "basically controlled by an iPad by the pilot. They're flying it in conflict like a week after we get it to him," he said.”

BUSINESS INSIDER, MILITARY & DEFENSE, Ukraine's pilots are flying high-risk 'wild weasel' missions first developed in the Vietnam War by the USAF, says defense analyst,Ukrainian pilots fly dangerous "wild weasel" missions to suppress Russian air defenses. Advanced US-supplied missiles have played a critical role in these missions. The arrival of F-16 fighter jets will help level out Russia's air superiority., Cameron Manley May 11, 2024, 7:25 AM EDT.

The Russians are making some noise.
Russian Offensive Campaign Assessment, May 11, 2024
    May 11, 2024 - ISW Press

Russian forces are conducting relatively limited offensive operations along the Russian-Ukrainian border in northern Kharkiv Oblast and continued to make tactically significant gains in likely less defended areas. The reported sizes of the Russian elements committed to these limited operations and of the Russian force grouping deployed along the border in northeastern Ukraine indicate that Russian forces are not pursuing a large-scale operation to envelop, encircle, or seize Kharkiv City at this time.

Putin may think that expanding his invasion of Ukraine into a real world war will save his regime.
    It won't.

“This war, Biden has said, is “a battle between democracy and autocracy, between liberty and repression, between a rules-based order and one governed by brute force.” Even distant democracies agree.

“Ukraine of today may be East Asia of tomorrow,” said Japan’s prime minister, Fumio Kishida, in a recent speech to the US Congress. So the democracies “must have all hands on deck.” A world reshaped by Russian victory would be a world most democracies don’t want to live in — but one that would suit the Eurasian autocracies just fine.

Russia, China, Iran and North Korea have their differences; their ambitions, in regions from Africa to the Arctic, may eventually collide. But for now, all share the aim of creating a world primed for predation, because that is the only way they can subdue the countries around them and attain the spheres of influence they desire. So they all stand to benefit from a world in which coercion and aggression are facilitated by the breaking of the liberal international order.”
BLOOMBERG, Ukraine Is Now a World War. And Putin Is Gaining Friends., Global proxy conflicts were a constant in Cold War I, and Russia’s invasion marked the first of Cold War II., By Hal Brands, May 12, 2024 at 12:00 AM EDT.

Sounds like "Oink Oink" in Azov speak .. is this a new demonization trope from the cheer team D? .. "Oink Ork " .. kind of like a fusion between a swine and an Orc ..

ISW is humorous as usual. 9 towns taken in 2 days in Kharkiv . the city in the crosshairs .. and everyone knows it .. cept apparently the folks over at ISW ..

Need to find yourself an alternative source D .. The mainstream western media is reporting the truth about the move into Kharkiv .. so ISW is doubly wing nut on this occasion .. extreme in comparison to the Western Mainstream ? ?

At what point do the canaries in the propaganda coal mine start singing D ..

The 50k or so orcs they've gathered in Belgorod are not sufficient to take Kharkiv, gifter. Especially now that vital aid is flowing into Ukraine once again and F-16s are mere months away.
