Euro is a failed currency, hopefully after elections 2013 Germany will leave Euro at first.

Russia has good start positions to begin the good relationship with the US, unfortunately many Russian officials try to prevent it. Germany should leave Euro and be more close to the US, its best friend and supporter.

It’s good that now you realize that we can apply the term “superpower” to US. I hope it’s clear that you began the absolutely idle talk about the difference between the empire and the superpower?

When I asked you ‘Could you give a definition of germanic culture?’ You said : ‘Germanic culture that has evolved from the cultures of germanic people. Eh, you know, the culture of germanic peoples. I include england and US in that because they are dominated by anglo saxon and other germanic cultures.’
But Germanic ppl / culture and English & American ones ain’t the same. For example we can’t say “the great Slavic culture” because this is a wrong definition but we can say “the great Russian culture” and this is the right one. The Russian culture is not only the Slavic product. There were the huge Christian influence, Byzantine influence, Western influence etc. And we have the same thing (the external cultural influence) with English and American cultures. The Russian/ English / American cultures are the great achievements of generated multinational Russian/American, UK’s nations and not only Slavic/ Germanic tribes’ ones. I told you that not only different tribes but also different cultures did mix with each other and this is the unquestionable fact.

I was sure that you will give this statement. :) You already gave some funny statements lately, this is a pronounced tendency >
    [IMG]

Yes they were. But we‘re talking about Germanic tribes which had very primitive culture. And the point is that much more cultural nations did exert huge influence on the all European nations including Germanic tribes. Is it clear or there is still any vagueness for you?

I share your opinion about Nazis. So, now you can see that it’s really funny that you permanently cry about small Sweden, huge Russia and that you were good strategists. I suppose your rulers knew that Russia and its allies had much more manpower and resources than Sweden as well, but the sources say about Karl XII’s idiotic obstinacy (just like Adolf). Karl and entourage did compel your emaciated country to continue this hopeless (for you) war. So, the life showed that your rulers and Hitler were f-ing bad strategists because they forgot one thing – ‘Don't bite off more than you can chew’ and launched the wars against some big guys (+ before WWII Germans got the analogous hard lesson in 1918, but…) and consequently your rulers and Nazis f ed up completely.

Hmm... as regards US, in my view the colonizers mainly used other, pretty hard methods there. They used to mop up (send to reservations etc) the Indian tribes and then the colonizers advanced to the next territories. And now experts take up a matter that American Indians were the victims of genocide.
‘ I think that's what russia did to parts of tartaria’ – You mean Siberia?? Well, in my view Russians were pretty soft colonizers in comparison with other ones. But sometimes they used pretty hard methods too.

Really? Looks like you have another opinion >
But you can go into reverse again. Just say that it wasn't your mistake but that it was your specific “sarcasm”, allegory or the sort of Aesopian language. :)

There are many other versions about Rurik’s ethnicity (Dane, Prussian, Slav etc) and the version that he was just a mythical personage. + I told you DNA test showed that assumed direct descendants of this semi - mythical personage Rurik have a Finno-Ugric haplogroup. This is a right test because the male’s Y- chromosome descends from fathers to descendants practically without changes. Yes, you gave very interesting version - ‘ in sweden there's sami people and they once lived far more to the south and covered more of sweden. It's very possible that norsemen and samis intermarried’ , but Finno-Ugric ppl lived not only in Sweden, they occupied huge territories. So, we still have no really irrefutable facts that Rurik was a Swede / came from Sweden. + Sometimes so-called “the most commonly accepted view” sucks. Not long ago “the most commonly accepted view” was that the sun revolves around the earth.

You still aren’t tired to pretend to be fool? :)
Pls. read this article once again and tell me which Norman-Varangians does the Great Soviet Encyclopedia mean? And why I gave the term “Normans” here? >
    Norman Theory
a tendency in historiography, whose supporters regard the Normans (Varangians) as the founders of the state of ancient Rus’.

The Norman theory was formulated by German scholars, including G. S. Bayer and G. F. Miller, who worked at the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences in the second quarter of the 18th century. A. L. von Schlözer, who came to Russia at a later date, also supported the theory. Evidence for the Norman origin of the ancient Russian state was provided by The Tale of Bygone Years (The Primary Chronicle), which contains an account of the summoning of the Varangian princes Riurik, Sineus, and Truvor to Rus’ in A.D. 862…..
In the middle of the 18th century, the theory was criticized by M. V. Lomonosov, who pointed out that it was untenable from the standpoint of scholarship. In the 1930’s and 1940’s, Soviet historiography overcame the influence of the Norman theory. A number of Soviet historians and archaeologists, including B. D. Grekov, B. A. Rybakov, M. N. Tikhomirov, S. M. Iushkov, and V. V. Mavrodin, established that among the Eastern Slavs of the ninth century the obshchina (peasant commune) system had declined to such a degree as to permit the development of the internal prerequisites for the emergence of the state….. The presence in ancient Rus’ of Norman-Varangians does not contradict the fact that the state in ancient Rus’ took shape as the result of an independent socioeconomic evolution. The Norman-Varangians left almost no imprint on the rich material and spiritual culture of ancient Rus’. Those who settled in Rus’ merged with the native population and became slavicized.

I'm sorry, but I'm sick today and my patience isn't what it usually is, but are you retarded? I've already made my case, I don't have time for this. Re-read what I've already written.

I've already explained this too, and you're arguing with a strawman. That's your problem, I don't care.

Germanic peoples are the reason the barbarians in italy wear pants! Germanic influence in europe is obvious to anyone with a basic historical knowledge that isn't biased against germanics.

I really don't bother with this. There's nothing more to be said, re-read my posts.

No, I meant tartaria. Which was occupied mainly by tartars, and nowadays many russians and ukrainians live there.

I don't care about your DNA theories because I don't have the interest, time, or knowledge to go deeper into Rurik's nationality. All I know is that the majority of the experts on the matter seem to think rurik was norse, and I think that says enough.

Are you purposely trying to look like a fool? You are totally missing my point. I'll just leave you here fighting your strawmen.

Newer mind. Patience is power but sometimes we have to blow off steam :)

Hahaha the f-ing weighty argument! Congrats, it was a fatal blow. :)

Our lively debate about this matter disproves your statement, but whatever. :)

It’s a pity that you don’t care about DNA theories because this is a very interesting thing but that’s your problem :) + now you know something about other versions about Rurik. Anyway this is good for you. :)

Old man, don’t take it too hard. It seems that we both do it (missing point of opponent & fighting against strawmen) here. However, always nice to conduct debate with a competent opponent like you.

    :peace:

Yeah, many Latvians share this opinion. There is a possibility that after adoption of the euro the imported goods will be a little cheaper and more competitive compared with Latvian ones. Also prices can go up in Latvia. It happened in some other countries which adopted Euro lately.

Mainly because they'll be giving up their sovereignty to a central body. Less representation for the Latvian people.

I don't think that the adoption of euro is the straw that broke the camel's back :)
