Funny, how you are trying to make this about Democrats. Is your only "defense" of Boebert to scream (to paraphrase) "Dems bad"? So, back to the OP: Do you think it is appropriate that Boebert is trying to switch districts to stay in power? Should this type of behavior be condoned by voters?

    MORE Candidates helps Boebert immensely.
The ONLY chance (albeit infinitesimally slim) that Boebert could be defeated in the Primary, would be if all but one opposing candidate dropped out and the Anti-Boebert vote was consolidated into ONE Bloc...
In any sort of scenario where she is facing Multi-Candidate Opposition (splitting the Anti-Boebert Vote) she will steamroll.
    It is what it is.

Thanks, so the coast is clear for her to be taken to task by any of the candidates who aren't dumber than dumb and a known religious hypocrite like her.
    Her stupid does burn.

I'm not locking in a primary win for her in this new district.. she brings more baggage than the 82nd airborne did on D Day..

    Like I said previously:
MORE Candidates in the Primary helps Boebert immensely.
She starts with a massive advantage in money and name recognition.

'Lauren Boebert Switching Colorado Districts Might Spectacularly Backfire'
    Dec 28, 2023 at 4:43 AM EST

    snips:

"However, Boebert's move has already sparked a backlash from Republicans in Colorado's fourth congressional district, including from state Representative Richard Holtorf who had already announced a bid for the House seat. In a statement responding to Boebert's announcement, he commented: "If you can't win in your home you can't win here. She knew she'd lose in her own district and I'll show her that'll she'll lose here too."

Boebert, who was facing a strong primary challenge in Colorado's third district from Republican lawyer Jeff Hurd, will face fierce competition from other GOP candidates in her new district. In addition to Holtorf, Logan County Commissioner Jerry Sonnenberg, former state Senator Ted Harvey, conservative radio host Deborah Flora and business owner Trent Leisy are already standing in the GOP primary for Colorado's fourth congressional district.

"Leisy hit out angrily at Boebert on X, formerly Twitter, after she announced her switch. He wrote: "Lauren Boebert has officially given the Democrats a Congressional seat by switching districts to run in my race. This move would give the Democrats control of the House. Lauren should be a fighter and keep her district red!"

As I asked the other guy, I'd really like an example of a Democrat doing this exact thing before I go with 'they all do it'... will you be the guy to provide that example???

    It CAN...
But, Palin's situation in the Alaskan House Race was a totally different situation...
    Let's put it this way:
I would be totally SHOCKED if Boebert lost the CD4 GOP Primary.
(A Primary in a Deep Red District which is tantamount to election)

Your words: "Democrat-voters gonna do what Democrat-voters do". That says it all.

In any case, you still can't bring yourself to criticize Boebert, just more deflection to Democrats.

    True and agreed.
They ALL do it. Dems, Reps, and even Indys....
Historically, several politicians have changed parties from both sides.
All the way back to entrenched "Dixiecrat" Racist Strom Thurmond in 1964 (from D to R) because he felt more at home in the GOP with his Segregationist mindset, to Richard Shelby of Alabama who switched from D to R in 1994.
Of course politicians are "opportunists", and "1+1=2", etc...
*Now back to the actual topic of Boebert's move to the 4th District (which is an Intra-Party District Switch, and has absolutely nothing to do with epically-failed attempts at whataboutism based on Politicians Switching Parties from previous decades):
It was a very savvy political move (obviously, made on the recommendation of advisors) and one would think that she would be very hard to defeat in that sort of Safe (R) District.
Once again, totally lmao at the epically-failed whataboutism...:bored:

I agree the seat will remain red.... the question is whether it will be wet too...

I won't be shocked if she loses... she brings nothing to the table somebody who lives in the actual district wouldn't...

Specter lost in the democratic primary.

Boebert is going to a district she knows she will win simply by having an R next to her name. Republican voters gonna do what Republican voters do.

I don't agree that her 'name recognition" is an asset.
What does she actually bring to District 4 that they need and can't get from another candidate?

She’s moving from an R+6 to an R+13

She knows she is going to loose in her current district, but hopes that the +13 district will help her because the more right, the more crazy is tolerated.

Think about that for a minute….seriously….your so crazy that an R+6 district thinks you crazy…….

    HO-HO 546. :roflol:
I definitely can see District 4 people resenting her and laughing at her arrogant sense of entitlement thinking she can just use them for her selfish ends.

    Love the "inflict herself" part.

'Lauren Boebert’s Sad Plan to Save Her Political Career'

'The Colorado controversy magnet has apparently worn out her welcome at home and will have to inflict herself on new voters to win reelection.'

    snips:

'But it’s not a given that Boebert will win in the 4th. She has been struggling with a public image that casts her as a political extremist, and she received a humiliating dose of national backlash after she and a date were caught on security cameras talking, using their phones, vaping, and groping each other while seeing a performance of Beetlejuice.'

    snip:

"There are already multiple candidates in the race to replace Buck, and more are expected to join in the coming days. One of those candidates, state Representative Richard Holtorf, has already slammed Boebert for “carpetbagging.”

“Seat shopping isn’t something the voters look kindly upon,” he said in a statement. “If you can’t win in your home, you can’t win here.” In her attempt to stay in power, Boebert may just have signed her own walking papers."

Links would help, so without any, you didn't even sink my tugboat, much less my carrier....

From what I can briefly gather, both of those guys switched parties, not districts... FFS

So much fail.... Why don't you stick to trying to torpedo this solid economy with more 'Target fires seasonal hirings after Christmas' threads? It's your private little lane...

Carpetbagging and gaming the districting system are indeed practiced by both parties, and it is universally frowned upon. Cases of this are very, very rare and far between. And universally decried.
Sometimes, it is excusable because there is a relative logic and explanation. Dick Cheney changed his residence from Texas to Wyoming so that he could legally run for VP. Laphonza Butler reregistered as a CA resident (where she was still a homeowner) when Newsom nominated her as senator.
But this move by Boebert is an 11 on the carpetbagging scale. She is the INCUMBENT in her district that has not been redrawn (I do seem to remember a case or two of a congressperson having their district redrawn, deciding to move to another district). This is not someone seeking a seat elsewhere because her seat is blocked by a long standing incumbent, she is the incumbent! Dr Oz and Hillary moved to states where there was an opening that made sense.
No, this is really one of the most cynical examples I have seen in a long time.
The everybody does it defense is 1) not true as this is a very rare occurrence and 2) Weak, because a very few amount of people having done it from both sides of the aisle definitely does NOT make it excusable or OK.

Boebert is changing districts because she would probably lose in a primary to a republican and DEFINITELY lose to democrat in a general election. Rather than having an AITA moment of reflection where you realise that your behaviour has pissed off both parties in your district, you decide that the problem is the voters.LOL

    Well said and documented.

In fact, just this week, incumbent Lucy McBath (D-Ga) is essentially forced to run in another district in 2024 due to redistricting..

    NOT the same, MAGA fanboys...
