True, there are a lot of preppers and the numbers are growing, but living off the land takes more than just buying a seed bank, putting it away until doomsday, and then starting a garden. Its a life style, along the lines of "you fight how you train", if a person doesn't incorporate survivalist aspects and self-sufficiency now while they can learn without consequences then they are going to be in serious trouble trying to learn when mistakes mean starvation.

Try listening to a audio story called we're alive. It's on podcasts apps like stitcher and Apple Store. It's free. Great listening stuff.

Most preppers have a plan and intuitively start living the "style." What will happen is barter either through trade goods or specialized labor. There will be nothing more useless than a credit card.

We live in a rural area and every winter we get unannounced Emergency Survival training when a snow storm comes and shuts everything down. I mean everything. Not even a radio station. For info everyone goes to the store with a generator to get the news of when we may have power again. We have come to look forward to it. It's my wife's favorite night because all the family comes to our house because dad has it set up to function without power. We even have hot showers. Actually the whole town gets survival training and people go out and help one another it's better than Christmas. We have ranchers and farmers in the area I'm not to worried. I would suggest for others to take one weekend and turn your power off and see how you and your family do. Then make adjustments where needed.

People can also be benevolent during those trying times. Just like the animals come together to escape when there is a forest fire.

Outside of the concrete hellscapes, people will rediscover the meaning of "community" pretty quickly. Within a month or two, starving preppers will start to trickle into town to barter, local ranchers and tradesmen will start trading meat for veggies for work for other things, and society will slowly resume.
Veterans will find themselves valued for defensive skills, and mini-governments will form. Humanity will go on.

Science says yes there have been solar flares in the past large enough to create an emp...but there were no electronics at the time.

I was nauseated to read some people's comments on another's container shelter, a rather good idea.

And in a scenario of a post apocalypse scenario, similar to a zombie apocalypse or plague that kills countless people enough to cause the dissolution of Government and forcing hordes of people to pillage and commit crimes,
A low profile would include not being visible or making smoke or noise to attract people.

It might be good to read the original version of Robinson Crueso for good ideas on that topic.

It's a neat idea, but you have to admit that the entire strategy relies on remaining hidden. If the underground shelter were to come under attack, it would be a death-trap.

Since I'm disabled and depend on the government support and a stable city environment to survive, I'd like a nice clean death please.

They took some pretty insane casualties, too. If you put a million people into jungle bunkers, then some will survive, sure.
