With President Obama's signing of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), his followers can be seen in their full hypocritical glory. The same exact people who decried George Bush and his Administation after the signing of the Patriot Act are defending the NDAA, which is essentially a stronger, enhanced version of the Patriot Act.

We all know you statists do not mind sacrificing freedoms in order to make the Federal Government bigger and more powerful. That has been clear for generations now. My point of contention is that you only seem to support these measures when a Democrat is in office. Why the hypocrisy? Is it just partisanship as usual, or is it something else?

To be fair, I've seen one liberal abandon Hopey Changey because of this, so far. Good for him. Will anyone else have enough honesty to admit that Obama is everything you never wanted him to be?

The middle picture still freaks me out.

I completely disagree with the signing of the NDAA.

A little consistency from issue to issue would definitely be nice.

Isn't this exactly why you guys wanted to close Gitmo? Because you think things like this are wrong? What the hell, libs?

This statement is full of cow pie but the act does solidify the fraudulence of President Obama... just like so many before him.

The truth to take away from NDAA and SOPA has little to do with left or right but the fact that our politics are an increasingly hypocritical sham. The agenda of much of congress is simply self-serving in terms of power and wealth, and these bills exemplify both.

I have to be honest. When Bush started up Gitmo, I gave him much more leeway than I should have. I figured that the way we treated these suspects was justified given the circumstances and that the more important distinction was that they weren't citizens.

As citizens, we have more protections from the Constitution than non-citizens. At least, that's how it's supposed to work.

At the time, liberals and libertarians spoke out against Gitmo. They were right about their fears of this leading to the same detainment policies being pushed on citizens eventually.

The only upside to this situation now is that it looks like the majority of the American public (whether it's liberals, conservatives, libertarians, or some other group) is against this NDAA clause. Of all things, we should unite against this and hold everyone that voted for it responsible.

It's really the only way we can hope to prevent future encroachments on our civil liberties.

Don't label me as an Obama supporter. He is a fraud. No hope , no change, just more of the same, only worse than Bush.

Don't forget that is only NDAA, also we must add SOPA. With both laws the freedom is in minimium levels.

the NDA is an effective declaration of martial law. It throws the 4th, 5th and 6th amendments out the window.

It's in line with totalitarianism. No surprise.
