That should be worth sacraficing thousands of our troops, another trillion dollars, killing civilians, creating the worst ever humanitarian crisis, a lifetime of occupation and making more enemies for. All you care about is oil.

The oil they get doesn't evan go to America and since these companies are producing on foreigh soil and selling to Europe they are not American.

If these companies want oil they just found a lot in Montana. Come home to drill.

    Shale oil is too expensive.

We don't have any troops in Libya.

We've seen Camp Lejuene marines in Iraq and Afghanistan and now they are joining the fight against Libya. 2200 marines from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, or 26th MEU will take part. Their mission is to help end the violence directed at the Libyan people.

This will only be the first wave. Do you think we can just take over without ground troops keeping the Lybians in their place?

Your source is a kook site.

We aren't taking over Libya.. Qatari troops are training and advising the Libyans.

The Libyans will not destroy their police force or dismantle their institutions.

The oil majors are still avoiding Iraq.. Too costly.

Remember the cardinal rule.. The oil business HATES a war zone.

Every oilman in the world and every oilbrat knows that.

The imperialist intervention should not have been supported. Imperialism never, ever intervenes for humanitarian reasons. And there is always negative side effects form the point of view of the working class and especially socialists. Instead of this being a victory for the workers and youth like in Egypt, this is a victory for imperialism's bombs. When you drop them, people die. Most times imperialism intervenes, it is actually to prop up a dictator, overthrow democracy, or massacre innocent civilians.

In fact the imperialist intervention dampened down the mass uprising and turned it into a civil war. Initially it also strengthened the apparent support for Gaddafi, giving him the excuse that it was a fight against imperialism.

The rebels could not have taken Tripoli by military means on their own, but what would have been more likely was resistance within Tripoli, you only have to look to Syria for an example. They have not stopped despite repression.
