I think if you'd look into the actual convictions you'd find few to none.

On the surface, you're correct, CA age of consent is 18.

However, in CA, if "consensual" sex happens between a 14 year old and a 24 year old, the offender isn't put on a sex offender registry, and is prosecuted as a misdemeanor instead of a felony.

If the age of consent meant anything, there would be no such thing as "consensual" sex between a 14 year old and a 24 year old.

More than likely, the charges are simply not prosecuted, as leftists are wont to do.
