Keep in mind though, you make categorical, sweeping statements that Jesus is an (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*), so why would you support those pacifistic teachings?

Jesus, like Hitler, did indeed say some very good things, but that doesn't make up for the fact that much of his teachings/bible are horrific. If Charles Manson wins inmate of the year award for model behavior, I'm still going to say he was evil, basically. To some degree the pacifist teachings are indeed good. I think I prefer that over Mohammad's call to holy war (Jihad against the Infidel.)

Jesus was sick in many other ways, though. He insanely allegedly said, basically, that remarriage defines adultery. So my parents are adulterers according this his sick weirdo. I bet if I asked most forum posters if there parents remarried would they be adulterers they'd say "heck no!" Stick it where the sun don't shine, Jesus!

He also preached to love your enemies. That even the tax collectors loved those that loved them back, and that was no accomplishment.
Can you imagine the impact that would have if people really took that to heart?

If the standard of the day was to KILL gays (Jesus could have just been too plain STUPID to notice), and I was divine and would of course know that gays would be killed because of a book I was in, then I'm moral enough to have SPOKE OUT AGAINST THE PRACTICE! Jesus never did! That's because he likely approved of killing gays, as he accepted torture, and accepted slavery, and is perfectly fine with moral Gandhi being tortured forever. There's a clear pattern of immorality here. Jesus was simply immoral. And will go down in history as one of the most immoral people ever.
You clearly have incredibly low standards for the allegedly greatest "god" of all time!

If Margot had Jesus' magic super-hero abilities (answering prayers - kinda like Santa, etc.), she certainly would have, in the last 2000 years(!) found ample time in her schedule to renounce the Biblical call to slaughter innocent people who "god" made that way in the first place....that's because she's far far more moral than Jesus. So she would be better off believing in herself/humanity, rather than an immoral dead guy.

That's very good, but to put it in PERSPECTIVE (which the bible is terrible at - so it's not divinely inspired, clearly), that only makes up for Jesus' wanting me to burn, burn, burn, by, oh, say maybe 0.01%. That sick SOB, because I use my science, reason, critical thinking and common sense, will gleefully see me burn, and burn, then burn some more, the sick twisted Bible teaches. FEAR is Jesus' stock in trade. He couldn't get enough people to follow him by saying only nice things, so he had to invent (wasn't in the OT basically) "HELL/TORTURE". Since billions of people don't fall for his ruse, he'll allegedly see that those BILLIONS of moral, decent, thinking people suffer a fate than any human has ever treated any other human in world history. Many of these arguments have been discredited.
There are credible arguments contending the hateful rhetoric assumed to be in the bible translations regarding gays. You can look them up, or google the meeting in Kansas City this week addressing them. It's not a black and white issue.
The other example has been discussed with you, hating family being a teaching using hyperbole as a teaching tool. Since you know that, to make the argument you do as an absolute makes you just as much of a fundamentalist as your adversaries.

I agree with your doubtfulness of the divine inspiration of scripture. That is why my issue is always with scripture and not with Jesus, per se.

Perhaps someone can magically summon Jesus to clear all this crap up for us (he would be the only one that knows!) the next time they beg him for yet another favor (pray to him).
